I also had the letter. Maturity date is set as 30th November so looks like a 13th deposit won't be possible after all.0 -
Just confirmed with them that the Penrith require you send your passbook back to them with your maturity instruction form.
Or if you live locally then you can drop it in, as the letter states.0 -
Do Penrith do direct bank transfers, or do you have to receive the money by cheque?0
-
Don't think so B.B, otherwise I would have asked for that instead of a cheque.
The money goes into a holding account before cheque is sent off and R.85'ers will need to sign another form for that account.0 -

Have tried shifting the SO date (you have to cancel the SO and create a new one), each time the SO was credited back into my current account. Set the 'new' SO to the original date and this has gone though ok. Seems you may have slipped through the net ernie-money?0 -
so the Penrith one is a RegSaver that shuts down after 12months, ala HSBC.. best that roll on & allow you to continue to contribute?--i'm off to look at the list.0

....Nottingham Building Society paying 3.1% is the best on the market. choosing that rather than M&S's 6% is difficult to justify.
i would open a Swansea Building Society regular saver if i could, but i don't have a Welsh address:(0 -
With returns of any Bank or Building society so poor I decided to put a lot of my funds in a Peer2peer, not for everyone but i have much improved on my returns0
