IanIan, looking back, I see you were discussing a different account. I have not seen the Festive Saver account, only the account I mentioned above.

Hi SS2 - you must be getting old
You have the Furness Festive Saver listed under "Matures After Less Than 12 Months" and it's gone from their website.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
Hello, I just need pushing in the right direction.
I have 2TSB ca and I joint acc which is fine.
Now I have an early inheritence gift of 10k to save. I am a non tax payer, Oh pays tax.
is Santander 123 best? And or Tesco? Explain the DD required please.
Thanks.0 -

Anyone who has been following the opportunities mentioned in these forums over the last few years will, if they are fortunate enough to have cash to save, and are willing to make the effort, be earning, for example, 4% in a Lloyds current account, nearly 3% in a Santander current account, 3% in a Tesco current account, 5% in a TSB current account, 4% in a Penrith Christmas Saver, perhaps 6% in a First Direct regular saver or 4% in an HSBC regular saver, and several other similar accounts.
I have looked at the Tesco current account and it pays 3% but only on the first £3000 and then zero on anything above that!
Aggypanthus, nice to see I am not alone in going for the Tesco 1 year fixed account without the messing around.0 -

I dont think its about not being bothered, more scared of doing it wrong, or making the wrong choice.
Its great to have the whizz kids on here who know what they are doing lol
Panter, stilll not decided yet on mine.
I read before re tesco acc, to set up dd to satisfy the 123, but I cant find where to find it now.0 -
Seems there are quite a few people who take "Regular Savings Account" as meaning "any old account that pays me some interest". In order not to boil the savings ocean, I think we should keep this thread dedicated to savings accounts that are proper Regular Savings accounts, i.e. accounts that stipulate a maximum monthly deposit amount, and that are usually termed Regular Savings, Monthly Savers, Christmas Savers etc.
Current accounts, although potentially a great place for our savings, are not Regular Savings accounts, and there are plenty of threads for the various current accounts.0
