You can't expect that this thread contains all the T&Cs, and the most current version of them. You always need to refer to the terms of the bank or building society.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear: the T&Cs quoted above are not those from this thread, but the full T&Cs as given on Kent Reliance's own website.

Yes I know. What I was saying is that you always need to refer to the most current T&Cs published by the bank or building society as these are terms that apply to the accounts. It doesn't matter what is posted on an internet forum.

Just to let you know, the Nottingham BS Special Regular Saver Issue 2 has been withdrawn from sale as of today. I was informed by the cashier in branch.

Following on from the posting by skitskut.

Nottingham BS will NOT issue an Xmas saver this year.
  • This account can only be opened and operated at a Kent Reliance branch.

    The above is clear enough.

Has any saver managed to open this account via the postal system? .. and if so .. what was the location of the friendly branch or agency for those of us residing outside their branch/agency network.

    Hi Folks,

I have updated this thread. I can only find the items that helpful forum users have pointed out.

    - Nottingham BS Special Regular Saver (Issue 2) withdrawn
    - Skipton BS Regular Saver and Loyalty Regular Saver accounts added to post 4
    - Kent Reliance entry in post 4 updated to state monthly deposit is "£25-£500 (minimum monthly payment not specified in the terms and conditions but lightbulb2760 has written in post 2917 that he has been told it is £25)"

For the Kent Reliance account, I would agree that the terms and conditions show a monthly deposit must be made but there is no mention of how much this should be. They probably intended it to be £25 but did not actually stipulate this in the terms and conditions. I do not think it is worth spending any more time or effort debating this. If you cannot spare an extra £24 per month, you could deposit £25 per month and withdraw £25 per month penalty-free!

Regarding opening the Kent Reliance account by post, arsenalboy described doing this in post 1755 but did not say which branch. I do not try opening branch only accounts by post partly because I do not want to get any employee into trouble, and partly because I would be worried about having problems closing the account without visiting the branch (although I am aware others report doing this without problems).

I will do another update next weekend.

Thank you for the post 1755 which I could follow as both Arsenal Boy and Johnmoney05 managed a postal opening. This was back in July/Aug 2012 so it may not be as easy any more.

Agreed with your view that employees should not get into any trouble but they can always say NO. I think that Branches and agencies will have targets and so it may just suit them to go ahead.

Closing an account should not be a problem and KRBS are updating their internet banking site which may simplify things.
  • Their Santa Saver matures at 30-11-2014.

I am advised that there is not a new one commencing 01-12-2014.
