Is that legal ? If it is it should not be!

A good number of years ago I queried this same practise which was then being operated by The Principality with the then current toothless regulater. The reply which I received said that they were free to exclude any class of persons that wanted to and no form of racial prejudice was being practised.0 -

West Brom reg saver both Adult and Child issue 2 now closed (as of Sat 23rd apparently).
Been told by staff there will be an Issue 3 but no idea of rate yet (can probably assume lower!). Will launch in the next week or so.0 -

Discrimination is not always against residents of other UK nations. A couple of years ago Yorkshire Building Society had a branch account which was not available at branches outside of Yorkshire. It got some flack from members who used other branches such as the one in London.
Leeds BS on the other hand had a good branch account that was only available at its London branch. In that case it was to fight off competition from Metro Bank which had just opened a branch nearby.0 -
Thank goodness we are living in a country where companies, mutual or otherwise, can freely decide who they wish to do business with.
i'm not sure what to make of this. if, say, Yorkshire Building Society made their accounts available to anyone residing in England, but not to Scots or Welshfolk....would there be an objection?0 -
The Cumberland Building Society current account is only available to people living in the Cumbria area - is this not the same thing? It doesn't keep me awake at night despite being keen to open one if I was only eligible.Debt free since 18/11/2011
