Hope everyone with a Chorley Summertime saver has remembered to send off their passbooks as it matured yesterday. Still paying 4%. This is a closed issue, but continues for everyone who already has one,
Sent mine off Monday, with an advance secure message to their website saying I would phone them today also, but they are very slow from past experience. This morning there was no updating of balances for 31 May (yesterday) and it's the Queens Diamond Jubilee banking shutdown-athon-misery after today [we really should have been offered alternative banking arrangements]

"Mine matured on 25th May, so bright and early on the 26th went and withdrew the lot, only to find on getting home a letter from them stating the interest earned and maturity options.
Regreted my haste as I would have continued to get the 4.1% till 14th June.:mad:
So being quick is not always the best option."

Sorry if my reminder cost you Careful_ly, my funds were available for withdrawl on the 26th and I was just leaving the house to withdraw them when the postman delivered my letter.
I shall now leave them in until Monday the 11th in order that I don't lose a couple of days interest due to weekends and bank hols.

So does this mean you continue to earn 4.1% for twenty days after the anniversary date?

How do you send Chorley BS a secure message? Are they now offering internet banking?

'U-2-view' it's called. Register at the website. All it allows at present is viewing accounts and sending messages. Still have to transact by post for withdrawals.

    Hi Everybody,

I hope you are all enjoying the long bank holiday weekend and celebrations. I cannot find anything that has changed for this thread since the last update. I will do another update next weekend.

    Hi Folks,

Apart from fixing a broken link, just one change to make for this weekend's update:

    - Santander eSaver issue 5 (feeder account section) has an increased interest rate for new and existing savers from today - now 3.2% AER rather than the previous 3%

I will do another update next weekend.
