At the beginning of the Online application, you have to choose which account you want - wedding saver, Rainy Day Saver etc. Are they just asking you to choose a fancy name for your account??0

Yes, I typed Rainy Day Saver. I don't think you can make a name up.

You would have thought they would have had a Special Saver option in recognition of the creator of this threadI came, I saw, I melted0 -
I applied for it online, in response they sent a form to sign and return with a cheque for my initial deposit. So it seems would be slightly quicker if I had just posted them a cheque with the pdf from their website in the first place.0

Just want to let people know, the only way you could apply for Derbyshire and Dunfermline RSA is by VISITING their branch. You could apply by post but you will get much lower interest rate which in my opnion it is not worthy of consideration, considering that the are a few Flexi Instant access saver a.c from high street banks which pay higher interest rate.
Derbyshire
Good Morning
Thank you for taking the time to email us
Unfortunately this account can only be opened by person in a Derbyshire Branch, we are unable to send you an application form by post for this.
I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you have any further questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards
XXX
Dunfermline
Thank you for your enquiry.
I can confirm that the Platinum Monthly Saver Issue 1 can only be opened and operated within a Dunfermline branch. However we do offer alternative accounts that can be opened and operated either by post/telephone. Details of these can be found at www.dunfermline.com.
I hope this information helps however if you have any further questions please reply or call on 08457 336688.
Kind Regardi would also be very interested in hearing from anyone who has successfully opened one of these by post.
I printed out an apps form for Cheshire and was getting ready to fill it out and send it off when i checked the website and seemingly they also offer 2.5% reg saver and the only differnce i can see between the 2.5% and platinum reg saver is the platinum says branch access only. So i've held off sending the apps form as i fear they would open me the 2.5% instead0 -

At least they included an addressed envelope with first class postage paid.0 -
