Regular Savings Accounts: The Best Currently Available List!

Well - I'm very sorry I bothered asking the question. I thought this site was somewhere I could get some friendly impartial advice but obviously I was wrong.
I got the information from Martin's list of best Regular Savings account on the main site. I thought this was the one that was updated regularly. I was pointing out the information on the Norwich & Peterborough account is misleading as it doesn't tell you that you have to open a current account, etc. At the same time I thought someone might just point me in the direction of the type of account I want. My mistake!0 -

N&P have 3 regular savings accounts, the link from Martins article doesnt need a current account, it pays 4%.
The Gold current account has a linked regular saver which pays 5%.
The family regular saver also pays 5%.

It's not a mistake to ask a question and we have all been newcomers once. I can assure you that the accounts described at the beginning of this thread are updated regularly, as I have used them many times over myself. They are there for your guidance and it is up to you to check out the building society/banks own websites to verify the information fits what you are looking for. People can point you in certain directions, we are not professionals, but it is not spoon feeding either, you also have to put in some effort as well, as everybody's personal circumstances and needs are different.0

How about the Newcastle BS Balance Builder ISA, save up to £500 /month up to your ISA limit.
This is a regular savings account.
3.4% interest tax free so equals about 4.25% for a basic rate tax payer.0 -

As in para 3 of the introduction in SS2's post #1, regular savings accounts which are cash ISAs are included in "Kazza242's thread here: Mini Cash ISAs: The Best ISAs Currently Available List "0 -
Hi Everybody,
I have checked through everything and there is nothing else to add or remove for this weekend's update.
As anamenottaken mentioned in the last post, Kazza's ISA thread has the ISA regular savers - there are two regular saver accounts there at the moment.
I will do another update next weekend.
Until then...

Hi Folks,
Here is this weekend's update:
- Santander Super Fixed Rate Monthly Saver terms and conditions have changed again - this regular saver is still paying 6% for 13 months on up to £250 per month but to open one you now need to open a new current account (rather than take out an investment or protection plan). I have updated my entry and moved this into post 5
- Nottingham BS Branch Fixed Rate Regular Saver now has less than a year to run so I have moved it into post 7
The children's regular saver accounts are well covered by Martin's Best Child Savings page which is why I do not cover them here but I will mention that the Prinicipality BS Dylan's Children's Regular Saver is coming out with a second issue tomorrow paying 4.5% fixed on £10-£150 per month. If it is like the adult regular savers that Principality offer, then you should be able to open one in addition to an existing issue 1 account. The details are on this emoneyfacts page. If you are not familiar with the tax implications of interest arising from children's accounts then please read Martin's Best Child Savings page!
I will do another update next weekend.

Edit (01/03/10): I have added the A&L account mentioned below to post 5 now.0 -
Looks like this is also available at A&L as well with the added bonus of Quidco and referrals.

Hi folks,
I have a really short notice request for help from the Sunday Times - they are looking for a savvy MoneySaver who is currently enjoying the benefits of using multiple regular saver accounts to talk to them as a case study.
If anyone is happy to help them out, please let me know by PM. They have a real short notice deadline on this, so it's be excellent if you want to be involved, to contact me today.
This is likely to involve getting your name (and potentially picture) in the paper this weekend - so be prepared!
Thanks so much
