Hope you can get some more help for your mum! Without this site I would have still been renting and in £28k (or more) of debt. As it stands I owe roughly that in mortgage now.
I've learnt so much and made some huge life choices off the back of finding "my people" on here.5 -
Fingers crossed your mum feels better soon. Another one here who has been helped/influenced greatly by MSE. When Mr SA was on death’s door I don’t know how I would’ve coped without the support from people on the forum, there was many a time you kept me going Buffster. I wish it had been around at the time I was hopeless with money. Now it keeps me on the straight and narrow and you can learn so much from others.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

I was just having a conversation with some other MSE friends about how much it saved us - not in money but actually saved us. The people here who understand what it is to be saddled with that looming wall of debt and how you can't talk about or leave the job that makes you so sad. You just had to plow on. When I was first in debt it was bloody awful as I was in a horrible school and I just couldn't see a way out. I consolidated twice I think. Had something like 25 000 grand. Probably more. Was always too scared to add it all up. Thought I had it sussed cos I never had an overdraft!! no Buffy just that giant loan and a couple of substantial credit cards!! (that went up and down like yoyos!!)
Different times.
any how. Sainsbury's due tomorrow. Plus a meeting in the morning. Plus of course lessons. My friend has ofsted and that has put the fear of God in me.Nevertheless she persisted.3 -

Today was a terrible day. If it gets much worse than this I don't know if I will cope. It is relentless. Utterly relentless. I wish I had kept a journal of this last six weeks. I didn't think the virus would be this bad not ever. I knew it was dangerous and I work very hard to keep mum safe. But I never dreamed it would be this bad.
Nevertheless she persisted.4 -
