No you can't leave your sister in the lurch.  When your friend gets over her disappointment she will realise that.  She has probably been looking forward to seeing someone other than her own 4 walls.  It is a funny old time we are going through.  Well at least for those of us who care about what is happening.

Yeah. She is deeply fed up. I mean I know one or another we all are. I have never been so close to tears so much in life! but she is rubbish at expressing and sharing!

Your sister should come first she needs your help now, your friend can be rearranged any time. If that was me I’d understand.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Ok . Can't lie, today was SUPER tough. Too !!!!!! hot. Sorry. Can't do a thing. Watching the animals in case they collapse. Watching mum, and then the shenanigans with the dentist, she is all great but we had to wait ten minutes outside and it was rough. Ok after that, the assistant helped on the way out and the driver helped on the way in - trouble is you can't guarantee that will happen you need people who go beyond. Any how, decent enough time in the various supermarkets to cool off. And then have had the steaming hump ever since I got home!!
Really need to check the old bankety bank. Ugh.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

I think probably when she calms down she will. It is a little hurtful, but hey ho.
D'head has been in touch as normal but making plans. That cheered me up. :D
money wise..........I am spending A LOT.
But I have paid all my bills for the month. I have some money left so am ok for the essentials.
My CC is cleared and ready in case I need to pay the vet bill for the rabbit.
thanks for the kind words re my friend. XXXX

  • Too hot.
    FAR TO HOT.
I am useless in heat. I am really lucky that generally these end of the world heat waves come when I not in work cos I would be dead I think. The last three days have been a total waste of time. I am furious with myself for being so wet about everything but it is what it is.
I hoovered upstairs today and put a load of washing in which I totally forgot about. I need to put the stupid recycling out. I have the total hump today!
I also realised that to keep Bunny boy well in the tummy department he needs daily supplements. These cost 24 pounds a month. I decided to buy hay too for 6.49 so now it is over 30 quid. Free delivery but still seems a lot. But he needs them and they are expensive to get to at the vets.I think I might change the order and just get more of supplement?  (12 quid Versus 8) they are expensive little so and so's. I don't need any more expensive hay.
I am so miserable. best get to the recycling.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Oh Buffy, sorry to hear you’re feeling down 😩 Big hugs xx

  • Changed the order, it is still a lot - 31.96 but it is supplements he needs not silly overpriced hay!
    XXX
    Recycling. ugh.

Thanks, think I just want to have something nice happen and am feeling sorry myself. and I shouldn't be such a spoilt brat. All my friends bar one who is still in isolation are going away and have  bubbled with friends with children etc - which I totally get but my bubble has gone away to see family. And I have no plans. And I should be more grateful. My sister works in this heat and my other sister gets no break from her job as a carer, like you don't SA xxx I need to pull myself together frankly.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Ok.
So I took a brutal look at some of my online purchases, cancelled some and have decided to return 5 items. One I know I won't use, three that don't fit, one that isn't right for the job. Old Buffy wouldn't have done that.
That should get me enough to cover the supplements!
    Nevertheless she persisted.

You said on another thread that you were worrying about your mother not eating.  Don't.  Just make sure that she is drinking as much as you can get into her.  A day or so without food won't hurt anyone much but even a short time in this heat without fluids can be a bad thing (especially if she is showing any signs of dementia).  Dehydration & dementia are a very bad mix.  That is why someone with very mild demetia comes out of hospital with very obvious dementia.
