Hi all. Does anyone have any ideas for a man's advent calendar? My hubby usually buys me the Fenwick beauty one and l'm beginning to feel bad. The men's ones are beers or socks but he doesn't drink and has plenty of socks! He has beard oil etc, isn't much into grooming but he likes cars, bikes and vaping. So vape is on the list. He likes Lindor chocs so could get some of them...sending out an SOS....

In the past I have bought Mister CJ the Haynes "build your own radio" which he quite liked

This year I am planning to do a cheese calendar for him, buying small amounts of cheese a few days' worth at a time from a local deli and adding them to a refillable wooden advent calendar we already have.9 -

Talking to a nurse friend she thinks it must have gone through a nerve !Going for a Covid test hopefully Friday and if it’s all clear having a quick trip to my parents to drop off their Christmas gifts because I don’t want to get caught out if we go back into a full lockdown.9

I typed a long post earlier and could have sworn I posted it but its not here so try again
The kids are both recovering well fingers crossed its the last hospital visit we'll need for a while
We had a fantastic break away despite taz's restrictions - lovely weather the hotel was amazing with a great sea view strolls along the water with fish &chips/ icecream on the beach. Played lots of mini golf and spent lots of time just relaxing and taking in the scenery.
Princesskitty glad you enjoyed your holiday too it is a bit daunting going away at the moment but most places seem to have quite a lot of measures in place which is really reassuring . Its tough when the youngest starts preschool its a big milestone for you both but on the plus side you might get time to do some xmas prep in peace. Be prepared for the endless when are you having the next one?
GTQ food hamper treats - hot choc & marshmellows/ popcorn/ tortilla chips(my lot love the cheap own brand ones)& dip / snowball cakes / last year one of the supermarkets did a xmas themed cereal
Redrobin that sounds unpleasant hopefully it will start to improve quickly fingers crossed for a negative test
Mens advent calendars are fairly limited so I often make my own - if he vapes could you make him one with different ones in maybe alternate with a few lindt chocs
Home bargains had some xmas stock in - picked up a couple of christmas cover hand sanitisers and some dime bar robins to try
card factory have the 4 for £1 xmas gift bags back though the large ones are pretty flimsy and won't take much weightthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk10 -
Hi all, just quickly popping on to say I noticed this morning that the full Matalan Christmas shop is open on their website. Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I haven’t got time to read back right now, will try to catch up later. xx8

Bought my Christmas cards in Costco last night, know they are pricy, but they are all different and hand made so worth the extra bit of money. Was very reserved in there and walked past all of the Christmas stuff which is now coming into store!A smile costs little but creates much9 -
The Range also have their Christmas section on their website now, hoping to pop in tomorrow morning on the way back from the nursery drop off to have a quick look in peace

My 92 year old FIL is particularly difficult to buy for. This year I am making up a hamper of some of his favourite snacks and treats, and because he occasionally likes a little glass of red wine (but normal bottles are too big, and it mostly goes to waste) I'm including a couple of those 200cl mini bottles. I'd like to include a nice cosy fleece throw, and when I feel confident enough to go out into the big bad world shopping again will look in Dunelm and Matalan - has anyone come across any good quality (but not too expensive) throws on their recent shopping trips which they could recommend please?
Thanks!7
