Evening everyone, omg this week has been my idea of hell
Thank god today was a bit cooler, still humid, sat in hospital having a fibroscan with a face mask and anxiety I was an absolute wet drip!! So tonight I have treated myself by ordering a snowy garland for my fireplace and white glittery poinsettias
PK I’m an autumn girl through and through
MANDCO ooh I’ve not seen the neck hot water bottle before that would be great for soothing my neck pain from fibro, thankyou
CJ I’m going to have a look on Ali express as well

Hello you gorgeous bunch of Christmas crackers!Room for a small (haha! Who am I kidding) one to squeeze in and join in the festivities in the build up to the big day?Time to find me again5

Of course sammy-kaye come right in and get comfy. We love nothing better than Christmas here.
Mandco thanks for that link.I never knew a neck hot water bottle existed. I have arthritis in my neck,I must get one to try.
Book arrived today. That means everyone I buy for has at least a little gift. That is an achievement for the men,I usualy panic buy nearer the time. Both DD's have male "friends" on the scene, the list may be longer by Christmas.
Free I am with you on the not enjoying the heat.I used to love it when I was young but am miserable with it these days.I do think the light has changed though to an autumny feel. I hope you are feeling much better now.xx
Work tomorrow.Hope we have internet back. The mast was hit by lightening!

Welcome Sammy-Kaye.
Mandco- I didn’t know you could get neck hot water bottles, a friend of mine fills up a normal hot water bottle with cold water and freezes it for few hours. She says it keeps her cool in heatwave and is safe for pets too. Just don’t use it again using hot water as the seal goes.
I am more of a autum, spring, winter person, I hate the heat as it makes my health conditions act up. It’s raining here in Bournemouth but I think it’s still a bit muggy.
I ordered some bamboo socks for my mum from a sock manufacturer, they make the socks for well known companies but are cheaper in costs. They have some Christmas socks on sale at moment. The company is https://www.sockshop.co.uk/secure/index:sockshopSearch?query=christmas&sort=pricelow
sockshop are also on topcashback.
i also got a garden ornament for her so her present is nearly finished.
I also ordered the cats salmon fillet for her breakfast on Christmas Day when I ordered the pet food to save going into store. Apart from the dog the pet presents are nearly finished.

Thanks for the sock shop link, I have just ordered a few pairs to add to presents.
I have just placed an order on hobby craft for some Christmas crafts for the kids and bits for them to make cards, feels so good getting a start and organised with all the fun bits.
I am thinking of making something little for the table for each person, maybe a alcohol miniature, scratch card, chocolate? Just a little something for each person but struggling to find ideas/ how to make them look nice if anyone has any ideas5 -
You can pop them into crackers RAINBOW, either make your own from scratch or what I’ve done in the past is buy a cheap box from somewhere like Home Bargains, open them carefully, add new contents then re-tie with ribbon. You can personalise the front too. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :6

Afternoon everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend. DD2 and Thumper came over yesterday, which was lovely, but naughty nana let him play on my phone and he worked out how to post on Instagram!! Had sent a few before I noticed 😂
SAMMY hi and welcome
TREASUREQUEEN Thankyou for the sock link, I’ve just ordered 2 boxes of 3 socks for the kids stockings. Are you based in Bournemouth? I always thought you were in Scotland lol
VULPIX it’s still muggy but temperatures are much better here. I’ve been a miserable so* since a child, sitting on a beach while my parents were sunbathing was torture! Did your internet come back on at work?RAINBOW have you heard of pots of gold? You put like a scratch card, miniature etc in some sort of pot, ie glass, mug and fill with gold sweets/choc coins and put them at each persons place on the table#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE5 -
Yes Free I am based in Bournemouth.
I too need some ideas for fillings for Christmas crackers, looking for bargains and have 8 crackers to fill, 5 women, three men. I noticed that hobbycraft had some more Christmas bits online. I’ve got my birthday voucher to use in there. But not sure what to use it on.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £486 -
Treasurequeen: lip balms or nail polishes are quite good cracker fillers for women, and miniature aftershaves for the men. In the past I have asked in my most charming way for those little aftershave samples on cards which you can get from the perfume counter ladies, and so they were free. Works best at this time of year so they don’t twig you are putting them in Christmas crackers!
In the past I also bought some of this spectacle cleaners (they look like two tiny round pads on a plastic holder, one pad cleans each side of the lens) but I haven’t seen those around for ages. The pound shops might have little spectacle repair kits.
I have also put rolled up packets of chilli or tomato seeds in a cracker - useful for any gardeners, especially if you choose a more unusual variety of chilli.
Trolley tokens are always useful (and are often charity versions, so they benefit too). Keyrings are a good option if you get really stuck. I always squeeze a lottery scratchcard in as well.7
