freespirit66 said:Morning everyone, well I had a spectacular day in a&e yesterday. My first day alone as both kids had gone into the office, was putting washing into the machine, next thing I was halfway across the kitchen on the floor with blood pouring out of my head. I managed to get myself up and get my phone. Absolutely panicked called the kids, they came rushing home, whisked me to a&e, I ended up losing a LOT of blood as I had burst a blood vessel and it was still spurting out 4hrs later. In the end to stop it quickly they stapled most of it (without local anaesthetic) 🤮 and stitched the rest. 14 staples and 10 stitches. Oh and I’ve broken my elbow! I don’t do anything by half’s. So a few days on the couch doing nothing is the orders from the nurse. They were absolutely brilliant with my anxiety, bless them.A smile costs little but creates much5

OMG Free. You take care of youself now.xxx
Went to Bury market today.Packed, no social distancing what so ever but most people in a mask.Got a stocking filler novelty bottle opener for DD2 and some fabric to make a moravian star.
It is our wedding anniversary on Friday.I am being taken away for a couple of days to a mystery location. There may be gift buying opportunities,no idea.
I find Christmas different now all the children are adults.More indulgent food wise, non of your eating a selection box at 5am.The good old days eh.
Take care all Vx:5 -
Afternoon everyone, still on the sofa taking it easy, it’s a good job it’s 28 degrees here far too hot to be doing housework
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY ha you could say that, I really don’t know, I’m beginning to think it’s my balance?? It’s not the first time, but obviously the worst time. It’s usually bruises I end up with. Talking of which, they said I will have bruising on my face, it’s starting to come up today!
VULPIX Thankyou I will, the kids are doing a sterling job. I don’t think people think it applies anymore, most people are doing just what they want to, bu***r everyone else! What is a Moravian star? Yes, you just have to make the best of the day, I love having a Thumper Christmas as much as an adult Christmas, it wouldn’t be fair if his other grandparents didn’t have the enjoyment of him. Happy Anniversary for Friday, hope you have a lovely mystery trip x#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE3 -
Haha mystery no more.I am in a lovely hotel in Scarborough.I have taken a leaf out of your book Free and fallen in the shower today.I banged my head and saw stars but as the day has gone on I think I have cracked a rib.Not quite what i had in mind for a weekend away,I can't move without groaning!
I will post a pic of a Moravian star on the pinterest board.Done it,the one I am making is like the red one but with silvery blue fabric all over. They represent the star of Bethlehem.:3 -
VULPIX oh no!!!! On your lovely weekend away as well! Is there anywhere near to get checked out or at least some pain relief? Will be thinking of you. I will have a look on the board x#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE3

Oh no FREE and VULPIX - wonder who the third one will be? Hope you’re both pain free and much more comfortable very soon. I’m going to have a look at the star too, I’ve not heard of it before. I’m merrily posting stuff on the Board - I’m always looking at Christmas related things on there but it’s nicer when you ‘know’ the other people.😉
Hope everyone keeps cool today. I look like a tomato already - hot isn’t a good look on me 🥵It's the most wonderful timeof the year :5 -
PEPPAPIG I know it’s not even midday and it’s 31 here 🥵
VULPIX oh that is gorgeous, I know our Murie would be clever enough to do that! The instructions just went right over my head. Look forward to seeing it in blue and silver#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE3 -
Me n cocodamol have become very well aquainted recently.I have a big bruise on my knee but it doesn't hurt.My forehead and ribs are very painful but nothing to see.I think I at least deserve a bruise to show for it! Hope you are on the mend Free xx.
Those stars are everywhere but it isn't well known what they are called.Moldovia used to be in what is now Czechoslovakia.I only knew as there is a Moldovian settlement in Manchester.
It has been a lovely 25 in Scarborough today. We only drove along the sea front as there were thousands and thousands of people there.Very ,very few face masks in evidence. We went to Bridlington which was much quieter and people wearing face masks. We then went on to Hornsea which was quieter still.Home now and it is soooo hot.
Picked up another candle .yet to be allocated and a wax melt ceramic thingy and vegan wax melts for DD1.
Take care all Vx

I’ve ordered a couple of Christmas presents this week, ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’ book for Wiggle and a glitter make up bag for my friend from the Next clearance section with her initial on and I’m going to pop some make up bits in it. She loves anything glittery! Speaking of the Grinch, I’ve been inspired by Pinterest to do a Grinch themed evening at Christmas, so a themed dinner then we’ll sit and watch the film. Or part of the film as my children don’t really sit through a whole film! But they’ll love it. I don’t mind the Jim Carrey version but I’m so glad they brought out the animated version as it’s really lovely and much better for little ones. I’m loving all the pins on the Pinterest board!
I’m feeling happy this morning as DH is off this week and tomorrow we’re heading to see my parents, I haven’t seen them for 6 months so really looking forward to it. I’m glad we’re going now because I feel like there might be more restrictions again in the future with regards to travelling etc. Then we’re back for Wiggle’s birthday and we’re heading to Legoland, I’m a bit nervous about it but looking at their website they have lots of processes in place so fingers crossed it will all be fine.
Treasurequeen thanks for the books list!
mandco I secretly really enjoy building lego sets so I’m also looking forward to all of the lego he’s going to get for his birthday!
Lovely to hear you finally got to see your grandchildren.
GTQ sorry to hear about your uncle, it’s such difficult times not being able to go to funerals but thank goodness for technology, so we can take part as best we can.
boazu A few years ago DH and I bought some board games and every now and again we get them out and we really enjoy it, is that something you could do on Christmas day? Or playing cards or a puzzle?
Free! I leave you here for a few days and this happens!! My goodness that must have been a shock for you and certainly painful! You poor thing. I always knew housework wasn’t good for us. I hope you’re getting some good rest, it sounds like you’ve been very well looked after which is good to hear.

It was my birthday on Thursday and had parents round for tea in the garden which was lovely. Good job got this in as the lockdown for GM was introduced later that day and so can't have any visits int he garden for some time now, let alone in the house. Had the 'Christmas discussion' whilst she was here and came up with three scenarios each for a possible stage of lockdown/restrictions:
a) whole family to mine and no worries about mingling (obvs the preference. We also have an elderly lady who as friends with my late Gran who has no family of her own and has come to us for the last 7 yrs since we found out she has been having Christmas on her own since her husband had died)
b) restricted numbers and households (in my case it would be Mum, SD, Sister and my household, but we'd drop a Christmas lunch off for the elderly family friend)
c)just my household (DH, DS and me :-( )
It was quite a delicate conversation and makes a planning ahead for a Christmas obsessive like me difficult.
My son bought me a lovely book for my birthday. It's by Tanya Burr (some you Tuber or something) and called Tanya's Christmas. I read it in the 32 degree sun yesterday and it was pretty good. 75% off RRT at WH Smiths if anyone's interested!
@boazu a family Zoom is a lovely idea and you could send a gift for them to open during the zoom. I always think the nicest bit of gift giving is seeing their faces and this way you could still do it.
@princesskitty29 enjoy your trip to your parents...definitely worth seizing these opportunities before another lockdown/2nd wave as we are finding in GM.
Can I also ask what/where the Pintest board is?2
