Hi, hope everyone is well and had a nice easter? Me and the kids had a nice day spent outside doing egg hunts and painting and rolling eggs.
This weather has been glorious, have spent 90% of our time out the back garden.
struggling a bit with stress of it all, but trying to just make the best of it all.
Love your wee houses peppa, they are very cute:santa2::xmastree::santa2:5 -
Must be boredom but my mind keeps thinking about Christmas planning. It doesn’t look like shopping this year for gifts will be the same as previous years. I’ve found this cute family company in the uk, that makes soap and they do this set with a pair of cashmere slipper socks and a bar of handmade soap for £8.00. My gran and aunt would like them. They also do a men’s gift set and other gift sets. The company is called https://www.cosycottagesoap.co.uk/£2 savers club 2025 #2= £487

Is anyone else finding random food items never available? Can’t find icing sugar anywhere in the shops I have had to resort to bulk buying from Amazon ! I reckon it’s everyone baking this school tray bake cake lol .
I have also ordered a couple of funny Christmas cards for my brother and sister that’s as far as I’m getting at the moment .
Hows everyone doing with lockdown ? Although I do moan about work i will be happy to get back .
Hubby went shopping this morning to Tesco and Aldi apparently Tesco were more organised but empty shelves and Aldi were better stocked but it was a free for all .
Stay safe x3 -
Hello, I hope you’re all keeping well? We’re still muddling along over here and enjoying the weather. We’ve been so unbelievably lucky with the weather during lockdown, my friend lives in Barcelona, I spoke to her yesterday and it’s been raining over there for half of their lockdown. We must have switched weather at some point!
Like others I‘ve had a few thoughts about Christmas recently, I’m planning on making my BiL & SiL an ice cream hamper, I think someone on here has done it before? Has anyone got any good ideas of things to put in it? Sorry if someone has posted this before and I’ve forgotten!
Christmas is my ‘happy place’ so sometimes when I get a bit stressed I retreat to Christmas in my head! It always helps.
chanie thank you it was a lovely Easter.
nic we’ve been so lucky with the weather haven’t we? It’s very helpful to let the kids run off steam outside.
Treasurequeen that website looks lovely, what a good find. I will definitely bear that in mind!
Redrobin yes the food shop is still a lottery! I couldn’t get Marmite for a couple of weeks, I thought loads of people hated it! I also couldn’t get hold of a normal sized bag of basmati rice so we now have a 5kg bag in the spare room! It’s ok though as we always use it.

My icing sugar bulk buy taught me to read the ad thoroughly what I skim read as 3 boxes was actually 10 ! Not going to be running out any time soon lol .
Got to take Dd for her Depo Friday so masks and gloves at the ready , I thought she was dealing pretty well with it all but broke down last night saying she is scared . She had the option of the pill for 3 months but doesn’t like change so depo it is .
I usually get her a voucher as her main Christmas gift but as shops are under pressure and you don’t know which way things are going to go will put cash away for her instead .
If anyone likes downloading books check out your local library ours have started an ebook scheme, you can download 10 at a time and have them for three weeks .3 -
Redrobin you will be ok for icing sugar for a long time yet!
Went to Sains yesterday.Have lost my sun glasses so whilst looking for sunglasses I picked up a little 925 silver necklace for my christmas stash.Reduced from £13 to £5. I have not been able to get flour for weeks. On the bright side,no baking or pastry being made so none being eaten.
Thank you for the link Treasurequeen.Lovely things and reasonable price I thought.
The weather is glorious. It must make lockdown a bit easier for people with children.
Hope everyone is ok.Stay safe vxxx:4 -
I’m in a real Christmassy mood this morning, not sure why but thinking can we just skip to Christmas??! I’ve had a look at my list so far and there isn’t anything I can really get at the moment although I can start working on my cross stitch tree decorations that I’m making for friends.
It’s my birthday this week so it’s going to be a strange one, although DH is going to make my favourite meal which is a roast dinner. He also wants to make me a cake so we’ll see how that goes!
My poor friend had a miscarriage yesterday, she has a daughter but they’ve been trying to have a second for a few years now, this is her second miscarriage and I’m desperately sad for her. I wish I could go round for a hug and a cuppa! I’m putting together a care package for them with a meal, some treats and pamper things that I will drop on their doorstep this weekend. It’s all I can really do. It’s such a hard time for many people not being able to see people.
I hope you’re all doing well and keeping safe? I’d love to hear how you’re all doing!
Redrobin blimey that icing sugar will keep you going! I hope everything went well for your DD yesterday? Thanks for the library tip.

Haven't posted on here for such a long time but I'm really trying to be more organised this year! Looking forward to catching up with all you lovely ladies!4 -
Ah Opee good to hear from you! How are you doing?? Sounds like a great morning yesterday, it's nice to do these things sometimes as Christmas brings us joy. I recorded one of the Vicar Of Dibley Christmas specials the other day so will have to watch that at some point!4
