I just had to send another email to managing agents . Hioefully this won't be a habit again.
It was to ask for a sign to be made instructing all of us to keep the communal area clear at all times . I explained that if the fire fighters haven't a clear access when entering , then my insurers will not pay out and I could lose everything .I received an email from the managing agents telling me that the fire brigade did an inspection , and a door closer will be fitted on the front door . Something I asked for 2 years ago. It hasn't been done yet. They advised me that I need a door closer on my front door. I already have one . Hopefully , all the things I mention will help things improve at this important time .3 -
Hi AC.Just had a catch up with your diary. You sound as if things have been getting you down a bit of late. And I've just noticed your signature. You have done so well, moving out of London And starting afresh, dont be disheartened. Just keep faith, you can turn things around, just keep going.Re the ongoing neighbour problems.... Let's hope you get better ones. However, even if you do they might only be temporary and then you are back to square one, worrying about your next new ones.
The property market is buoyant right now, why not get a couple of estate agents round to give you a valuation. You might get a pleasant surprise, you have done a lot of work to the flat, you've probably added value with the improvements you have made. You might be able to run to a little house after all. Maybe not in your present Location if it is such a desirable postcode but now that you are more familiar with the area perhaps you could consider moving somewhere else, somewhere where you have more purchasing power. In the meantime are you getting out enough in the fresh air and sunshine. Lockdown isn't fun, being stuck in a flat all day must be very hard for you. Try and get out a bit, staying safe of course.Keep your chin up, all things must pass. Just ride it out. You've got this far, don't let the neighbour situation get to you and spoil your happiness. You have options. You have assets. If you are not happy In your flat, sell up and move on.Life is only crap if you let it be crap. Yes there are pitfalls, but you have to overcome them, not let them defeat you. As for people........well some are crap but generally most people are nice, kind and helpful. You've just been unfortunate with your neighbours.Maybe you should change your signature. If you choose a more positive mantra your luck might turn. 😉6 -
Feeling more positive about things at the moment ..for now .My signature still stands as it's stating the obvious , plus irony of course .😼
So , a catch-up : I have finally become more focused on my training and well being , after various things mentioned got me bogged down as mentioned previously .
This included finally stopping Pringles / crisps / frazzles after many months .I couldn't get the M&S crisps due to their non delivery of food until Ocado sorts things out for them . I was eating the white bread sent to me by the gvt . Ironically enough, on the last delivery on Monday I received brown bread for a change .Mr trainer 🏋️is telling me to stop bread altogether , starting with 24 hrs without any .
I started the challenge today . 🤞I can continue . As he said, I did it before .I found doing the home training hard going , but have picked up speed and will continue hoping to get my stamina improved . Plus, I've started walking this morning .20 mins or so , but eventually hope to pick up to levels pre COVID .Regarding the flat situation , I finally managed to talk to the director/ neighbour next door this morning ,The reason I say finally , is that he knows the owners of flats above and I had a chance to give him an update as to what's going on or what I think is going on .
I thought that the woman who lives with the druggie was not here anymore ,as I don't see her or hear her voice . Apparently she has been seen by the neighbour and her car is still there . I told him that I tore strips off of the owners and lettings agent .He knows the deaf guy of the other flat , and assured me that the owner has / is spending a lot of money on the property and it won't be ready for about another month. It looks like lesson learned for him as the family trashed his flat . I just said that he needs to get a lettings agent to do regular checks etc . So 🤞🙏
Things are pretty much stable otherwise , and could be worse off as I know .
I still have to try and get James at some stage ,hoping he can help out with a few jobs .
I mentioned to the neighbour this morning that since my old boiler got removed , more sound is coming into the room that was the Gas/ music room / home office .Plus I have holes in flooring from said boiler removal . Then I need to get a wardrobe .
Also, a cheap shampooer for the carpet .The work related guy from seetec pluss still calls me on a weekly basis . Today ,his offices are open a couple of days a week . He told me that there is no pressure to attend the offices for the foreseeable , as I'm not confident of going on buses just yet. .
My plan is to keep getting online food deliveries , meet up with local friend as and when and keep plodding .One more positive thing : the "food lady" who has been great collecting on a weekly basis invited me for a drink sometime . This will probably be with her husband .We do like our chats . She got me a pack of chocolate yesterday . While I as chatting to her last week she was mentioning her husbands hearing deteriorating ,and tv being turned up loud etc . I gave her a soundbar ( soundstage from richer sounds I got in my last home in Twickenham ) . It's been gathering dust . Hopefully it'll help .Anyway , I'll leave it there ..
Enjoy the sunshine 🌵🌵🌞🦅5 -
Thanks for the update AC - what a lovely gesture to give the lady a soundbar - it should make a big difference, we have one as my DH is getting hard of hearing.Debt free and Keeping on Track4

Good to hear from you AC. Yeah - just keep plodding. 👍. Remember Churchill's maxim. "Never Give Up".Nice of you to help out with the sound bar. I have one too, it's like being in a cinema, I love it. I got it because I too was struggling with the tv, especially dialogue. I just assumed I was losing my hearing because of my age but I have recently started a course with a chiropractor - loads of issues to sort out, my neck, shoulders, hips, pelvis are all out of alignment as a result of years lifting my husband, a riding accident and a couple of car crashes. It's all fixable and He's putting me back together again. 😂
The scans showed that there is an issue with my C1 vertebra (Among others ) and that it is affecting my hearing. The scan quite plainly shows a lot of inflammation just behind my left ear which is the dodgy one and just a small amount by my right ear which is my better ear. Anyway he reckons that I'm not going deaf at all but rather because of the C1 issue the signals aren't getting through properly and that once everything is realigned then my hearing will be ok - apparently it's bit like retuning a radio.Who knew. 😂🤣. And there's me blaming a misspent youth listening to too loud rock music.6 -
It's good to hear you're meeting up with your friend more often, and nice of the food lady to invite you out for a drink. It's important to have some social interaction, especially as you no longer work.Nice of you to give her a soundbar. They make such a difference.4

Thanks folks 😼
Soundbars do make a difference . TBH, I would have kept mine but I have my tv plugged into my stereo . Everything in one basket so to speak.🛒
Sorry to hear of your woes LL/ HBF . I think that you are doing the right thing obviously in addressing them . Having said that , I think we all need to get external help as we get older
If we can afford to do so . I aim to carry on with mr trainer for example , who has worked wonders so far .One of My older brothers has terrible trouble with his ears , and he has my sympathy .At the end of the day, wear and tear catches up with all of us and we have to think forward wherever possible .I got thrown off a horse when I wad about 12. Into lots of stingy nettles . I must have bern in shock , as I just laughed and got up . 🐴 I got hit by a car once when I was about 17.🙀🚗
The driver stopped immeditately ,and was worried about me . I just got up,and apologised to him . It was my fault . Long story , that was by Highbury and Islington tube station .
I count my blessings . 😸🙏 No injuries . ..maybe to his car 😸
I notice that the mse maintenance issues are still ongoing . Actually seem to have got worse 🐌 . Hello harz 😸
I'll leave it there ...4 -
