Hi AC, hope you're OK, just taking a step back perhaps?
These times of lockdown are hard on folks, especially if you are not so well and perhaps stuck at home a bit more than before?

    Come back soon AC!
  • Thanks very much for the well wishes .
I hope you are all safe and well .
I have been on the other boards on mse either sorting things out or looking at other posts and chipping in as and when .
The apprehensive stuff / updates :
The only thing that is playing on my mind , is who I'll have living above me in place of the large family that moved out . They wrecked the place from what I can see . A new bathroom is being put in . New carpet has been put in . The central heating people have been doing their business many times . My guess is the lettings agents will be around whithin the next few days.  I don't do confrontation well , but I'll be making myself visible everythime I see the lettings people and prospective tenants . If I get any crap , they'll get it back . That family took the p@ss with their arrogance , and muggins here was tidying up after them while they treated the whole house as their own and not actually considering that they were renting a 2 bed upstairs flat . Leaving bicycles / prams / footballs / in 5he communal area plus dumping post and flyers on the floor while constantly leaving the front door open is the height of ignorance ..children or not !
I am praying for  polite responsible tenants , and not large families or druggy students .
    Praying at the moment 🙏
The owner and her dad I found ignorant , but I don't care and will give as good as I get .
Enough about them . The druggy and his woman have actually stopped their antics since I went ott complaining to all avenues . Long may that continue . Again ..🙏
I think that the woman has left the druggie . She always looked miserable ,and she hasn't been here for weeks . He still uses her name for amazon packages . I do accept them , when in reality I shouldn't . I don't want bad Karma so hopefully all will be well .
He has been getting ballooons . My guess is he is doing hippy crack .

    The more positive stuff :
I may have mentioned that edf were stalking me , trying to force me having smart meters
This was by phone / email/ text / home phone constant .
Yes I know that we will all have to have one , but I want to wait till much nearer the time .
    i have my reasons .
Ontop of that, I spoke to a snotty person on the phone enquiring about the affordable warmth scheme and my boiler . I was told that all providers are the same and that I won't get one . Well, I got a new Worcester boiler from eon for £240 .
My mind was made up to tell them to go forth and multiply when my tariffs end in June .
Long story short , switched to orbit energy . Mistake k but edf blocked that despite me being in credit . I ended up getting £25 from my initial complaint and another £25 when I complained to the ceo . So, I got £50 and have decided to stay with them probably for another year . I can leave at any time.  Telling them that it was like lying on 5he floor with a rifle pointed to my head seems to have worked . Smart meters will not be mentioned to me anymore .

    Universal credit :
I was being too polite and patient regarding the decision about if I'm gonna be awarded service charge payments for my flat . I was prompted by the work related chap ( seetec pluss) to ask again as it was approx 2 months since I made 2nd enquiry
I got some great news ..a monthly payment of over £100 pcm . I had it back dated from Nov 2029- June 2020. It means that should things stay the same , I'll carry on getting it .
I keep getting the weekly calls from the work related coach at seetec pluss .
Eventually , I'll have to visit the office once a month , but I don't feel confident yet .
I have to pull my finger out and learn the Microsoft word . I've had good days and bad days , and days when I just don't feel like it .
I am due to go back to college in sept on Saturday course , but hopefully I can get taught at home also . Plus who knows about the coronavirus ?

Health : Still liaising with mr trainer 🏋️, and doing video sessions which are a lot cheaper at the moment . I have been eating a mountain full of junk over the last few months of lockdown . Being on my own and stuck in , my only excuse is that things got to me and I was very run down and turned to crisps, frazzles and pringles . Oh, and curiosity cola that tastes great , but the headaches are not worth it .
I have been seeing my friend over the last 2 Saturdays for  takeaway coffee ☕️In the park.
I haven't been trying as much as I should between sessions with mr trainer, but am now back on course. I have a large belly to deflate .

    Plan and overall outlook :
I remember buying this flat , and was warned / advised to get a house at the time instead
I am seeing both sides of everything as always . I picked the most convenient and most desirable area hence not being able to afford a house. I chucked the kitchen sink at everything I did , rightly or wrongly . Until lockdown I was handling things ok ( I think) but the last few months wore me down .
All of my flat looks great ( okay I could paint again ..)except the gas/ music/ spare room which has all of my junk in it .
The plan which I finally have , is around Nov   /  Dec time  get James in to assemble wardrobe and sort out flooring where old boiler was . There may be one or 2 other small jobs . I know he was fitting kitchens for a company but would think he'd help me out.
If not , my local friend may be prodded.
If I get crap neighbours then , reluctantly I would then be in a position to sell .
Lots to think of if I do, such as universal credit etc
When I mention Nov/ Dec I took out some drawdown money from pension and I'm allowed x amount each year , so I'll see.,

That's more or less everything . I'd say if I get responsible neighbours then things are positive . If not , I only live once ....
    I'll leave it there...

Good to hear you're getting back on track. Great news about the extra money. Fingers crossed your new neighbours are considerate.

Thanks AC. Things are better now, had good news that my cancer is still stable, so no need for treatment yet. And we're finally getting our holiday. We had to move it from May, so we're heading down to Swanage in just over a week. Can't wait!
