It is raining steadily out there now, and I am sitting comfortably, still in my pyjamas, finishing off sewing another couple of face-coverings for us both... I love autumn
In a bit I shall make lots of sausage-rolls, as they are perfect to take with us on hikes and next week, the second of our two weeks, is longer, tougher hikes (although several of this week's "easy short" ones turned out to belong in next week...). By the time My Intended returns to work on Mon 19th, WFH, p/t, we should both have lots more energy, far better lung fitness, and have lost a few pounds, giving us a better fighting chance if we do catch Covid-19.

Of course, since we're having people over and planning to be outside, it's now supposed to hit 100F today. They're saying that tomorrow might be the latest day in the year we've gone over 100 and set records.
Today will be spent cleaning and setting up for tonight. One of these days, I should learn how to properly keep house so it isn't a rush to vacuum, put things up, etc., but that might be a bit far-fetched for me until I get rid of a LOT of things.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. It’s my favourite time of year, I don’t like the weather too hot but a lovely crisp autumn day is perfect. I love the colours of autumn, and the snugness when I'm indoors in a hot bath and it's dark and wet outside! However, spring is my season. I usually start it in February and keep it going till nearly June.
Favourite autumn foods, anyone? Thick soups, hot ginger to drink, gingerbread, parkin, treacle toffee, hot apple puddings...

@PollyWollyDoodle, I’m the same as you. One day, I will have a tidy house and it will remain like that. Housewificus Domesticus I am not, although I can cook like a dream. (And enjoy doing so.). I just have the ability to put a pen down on an empty table and, 30 seconds later, it’ll look like bomb hit it.
