It's all a bit of a nightmare out there at the moment isn't it! Our cases are almost double what they were last week. All the debate around schools. I hope we get some clarity tonight. Someone in little jwil's class currently has covid. Of course they will not be in school regardless whether they are open or not, but it's very close to home.
Back to work today. Not too bad a day. I've had various catch up meetings and to my relief haven't been given huge amounts of additional work so I can concentrate on what I've got going on already. I think you called that announcement before it happened. I can't believe I have to tell the girls this morning. They're going to be so confused and disappointed. I hope your children take it OK. And I hope you got more sleep than me to deal with it all xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
 Loan 2 £300/£5800
 Total £5500/£138006

Floods of tears here from both of them, particularly little miss. She really struggled in the first lockdown. 😭. How were yours?Kitten868 said:I think you called that announcement before it happened. I can't believe I have to tell the girls this morning. They're going to be so confused and disappointed. And no, I didn't get much sleep last night worrying about it all. In positive news it meant I was up and able to get a Tesco slot "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Awe I feel so sorry for the kids it’s so difficult for the younger ones to understand. My son is in his final year at uni he’s only had online learning since Last March and looks like will still be this March. I just hope they make allowances for this when marking exams and obtaining degree. Lucky you managing to get a Tesco slot, I don’t need one but I heard on news they were fully booked so out of shear nosey ness I looked at my local and it it was fully booked till 17th jan so that’s a good result for you 👍🏻5

I really don't know how I'm going to cope with all this again. Talk about be careful what you wish for! I was quite happy to have a week or two, or even a little longer, but 6 weeks at least is going to be a nightmare. Trying to manage everything, work full time, educate them. DH tries, but he's got no patience, and all I can hear is him getting cross, the kids getting cross. They are then running over to me constantly. I can't get any peace and there's nowhere to get away from it all. This is exactly why I gave up on learning in the summer, and have felt horribly guilty ever since. I try to vary my hours, but it means getting up early to try and do something before they are up. I can't work in the evening after they've gone to bed as I'm exhausted. Obviously meetings and calls can't be out of hours as well.
Sorry, that's just a big brain dump/rant/whinge. It's only the first day and I'm sure it will get easier again once we get into a routine."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5

I would not worry about the learning too much as long as the kids are happy.

Thank you 😘 I hope we'll be able to do a little at least. The school will be sending us more details about online learning tomorrow, so they might have some interaction with their teachers which will help.beanielou said:I would not worry about the learning too much as long as the kids are happy.

I've been lucky with the slots, they've been quite hard to come by so I was surprised they were still available. This was for up to 25th. When I looked earlier in the evening at Asda, there was a queue and there's normally loads of slots free there. I do use Iceland too and they usually have plenty of slots available."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I agree. Do what you can but don't stress. They will catch up when they go back to school.beanielou said:I would not worry about the learning too much as long as the kids are happy.
