Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a good evening! I was in bed early but couldn't sleep so did vaguely see in the New Year. I had a rare drink too.
I did manage to get some of the parcels done yesterday so managed to take advantage of the cheaper postage. It all adds up!
I have been thinking about the year ahead. I'm not setting any specific resolutions this year, who knows what it's going to look like. However I would like
1. To end the year with some decent savings
2. To end the year weighing less than now
3. To end the year fitter than now
4. To end the year with a much emptier house
5. To make a start on some of the work needing done to the house this year.
Looking at my finances - two of my debts will fall off my credit report this year - in May and June. One has already gone, so that will leave me one which defaulted later and so will not fall off until December 2022. I think therefore I might see if I can get a F&F offer on this one to clear the balance and so it's showing as settled and closed on my report. Luckily it's the lowest balance one, so I hopefully won't need to raise too large an amount. It's still with the original creditor though, so I don't anticipate a huge discount. They have sent letters before saying they are open to offers though, so I'll see what I can do.
I'm going to go round and take photos of the house today so that in a year's time I can see what progress we've made. As the decluttering continues, it's easy to forget the little improvements. I've weighed myself and recorded that, and I'm completely unfit so any improvement is going to be good. I have noticed in the last few weeks that my knee has finally healed from the fall in Summer and I can crouch and kneel again - it is such a relief! I've no excuse now, so need to get on. I won't take that ability to move freely for granted again, that's for sure.
The Great Declutter List will continue this year tooand I will continue with my PADs, and try and send all survey money (not vouchers) to the mortgage and savings.
We can't go on our traditional walk to the beach today, so will stay home and chill. We were going to go to a beach near here, but now we are in Tier 4 that's out of the question too. Hope everyone has a good day"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Have a lovely day. I love your goals and think photos of the house is good idea and I might copy x so glad your knee is healing and not affecting what you can do. Happy home day seen as you cant visit the beach xx

I think the photos really help. Even now, looking back on some of the photos of the kids that pop up in my memories, it reminds me of the progress we have made.

The kids sorted through their DVDs yesterday and have put out 24 to go, so the declutter has already started!
DH has sold a few more things so that's some more gone. I've put his relists on for a longer period of time for now to hopefully reduce the number of visits to drop parcels off. It does rely on people paying promptly though which does not always happen!
Back to work on Monday. I've really enjoyed the last two weeks just chilling."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
I too return to work Monday (from home) not looking forward to it. We're having blizzard like snow falling at the moment.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
