So pleased to read that you are exploring new paths 😃. I always enjoy late evening walks and runs. The coolness helps and the changing colours of the sky always gives a lift.
Jan - has the government given an end date for shielding ( Sorry don’t watch the news)? Are you able to video call friends and family? Not the same I know, but to see people and have a conversation.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I know many people won't agree with me but personally I intend to ignore any relaxing of instructions that have been issued over the last couple of days as I believe most of it has been done earlier than intended just to distract attention from the Cummings fiasco. It is Gov101 - issue bad news on a very good news day & hope no-one notices. Relaxing things when the value of R is increasing in some places does not seem like a very good idea, although fine if you live in London where it is down near 0.4 not so great in the north where it is much nearer 1. The overriding rule - keep yourself safe - no-one else will!

Yes, you are right, I am defo impressed with the shopping from home, CCL. Much better than spending out on new when you already have stuff at home which will do the job. Am also impressed with all the walking you are doing. You definitely do longer distances than me. I once set myself a challenge of seeing if I could walk 5 miles without moaning & I did it, but only because there was coffee & cake at the end of it & I had to make a real effort to zip my mouth! I don't really enjoy doing more than 3 miles & can't remember the last time I did even 1 mile! I am doing loads of gardening though (quite a big garden) so am busy marching up & down it & doubtless improving my flexibility with all the stretching, bending, sort of squats, reaching, etc.......not that I can discern any change in my ample wobbly bits, I'm sorry to say!

We are fortunate to be in a position to be able to choose, OH is successfully working full time from home, our children are educated otherwise (they have been to school) so no need to be making decisions about whether we wish them to return to school when the schools reopen.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Same here re Lockdown easing. Mr F is having to do phased return to work, but still no contact with the public until early July. I had precious little confidence in the government before the pandemic, but I have zero confidence now. Having just read a newspaper article by an anonymous recruit for the Track & Trace system, my confidence is now heading into minus numbers. We will be very cautious about any new activities for a good while yet.

Unfortunately the government have given the lead job of track and trace to Baroness Dido Harding who was the CEO of TalkTalk when they had a major security breach which was totally denied to start with so I am afraid that we have no confidence in the system.14

Confidence in this government to set and implement an effective track and trace system is extremely low.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Oh don't get me wrong people - I don't trust the government, don't believe them and don't think it's the right time for lockdown to be eased. I'm a scientist who is genuinely following the science, and whilst I appreciate the government wants to balance the economy as well, I shall be balancing the health and wellbeing of my family. I read a very interesting piece of research yesterday that suggests Covid 19 is not a respiratory illness after all, but rather a vascular illness, which makes perfect sense in terms of the range of symptoms, increased risk groups and long lasting after effects that some people are having. I shall be interested to see if that comes to anything. In the meantime I will consider to count myself lucky that I have the option of sending the kids to school or not (and I have decided not), and that I have a job that is still paying me, and that I have a garden I can enjoy during this nice weather. I am incredibly lucky, but now feel even luckier that I can see a couple of people outside of my home.
I finally caught up with bestie yesterday, for the first time in 11 weeks. I walked to her house and we sat at a social distance in her garden and had a lovely chat and catch up. I know I wasn't meant to be in the garden but I still think safer there than out in an overcrowded park with hundreds of other people. So by the time I did that walk to and from hers (4 miles total), then a walk with dd late evening I'd done 7 miles altogether. My dodgy ankle knows about that this morning but I am still enjoying it. I'll see if I can be bothered with another walk tonight. DD has been with me the past two late evenings, she is happier being out when nobody else is around either. But as for easing lockdown fully, absolutely not. I'm not going shopping, or out in public when I don't have to etc. However, I am going to use the allowed 'loosening' to see my mam and my bestie.
So sorry that there's not been much word about people that are shielding as yet Jan - I know that there's been a little bit of something this morning, but it's as confusing as everything else they've done so far.
