One parent was not happy? If you did a test and got 29 out of 30 would you have failed ? If it was 100% success then you would be accused of using mind altering drugs on the kids, or witchcraft, or something. Not every parent is going to like you, they can only go on what their kids tell them, and let's face it, they have no idea of what you have to deal with in the classroom.

Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

B&M and Home Bargains sell a couple of different makes of chicken curry concentrate - Mayflower, Goldfish or Maysan typically. You can make up the sauce and add it to cooked chicken and whatever vegetables the DC will stomach (we tend to use combinations of onion, green pepper, mushrooms and peas), Or you can cook fresh chicken and vegetables and then make the sauce on top of it. I sometimes add in any leftover gravy from the roast too.
BTW. The people at Slimming World go crazy for the Mayflower version for some reason.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Bummer - I just wrote a long reply and lost it. See that they haven't sorted that little feature out in this changeover.
Anyway, I'm just home from a very long day at school which has included Parents Evening. There are so many lovely parents and kids at our school, but I have focused on the 1 that complained rather than the plenty of compliments. How strange that humans are like that. I am really tired, but on the plus side it means I haven't spent any money, because there's not been any time to spend anything. The budget remains intact and I chalk up a nsd - except I will need to go tinned ravioli hunting tomorrow. Will find the cheapest stockist on my supermarket to make the most of the budget.
Thanks for the ideas about the curry sauce - it is the same as chip shop curry sauce, yes. I feel it deserves the effort to make it if it's the only meal the three of us will eat. I can bung it in the slow cooker one morning and have it there when we get home from school. I will investigate that too on my supermarket. DS will not entertain veggies in his curry but I can work round that.
Anyway, I'm heading off because I have a date with some crochet and a desperate need to wind down.

You know what else I found out today? I only have 9 years 8 months left on my mortgage. I could have sworn it was at least 12 but that's a pleasant surprise. All irrelevant though at the moment (thanks massive credit card balance). Not giving up

Try blending the vegetables down so they can form part of the sauce. Also helps thicken it. 🙈👍*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

Brilliant news on the mortgage.
I like foxholes analogy.
I sometimes blend vegetables into sauces to thicken them up, carrots would work well, I often use softened carrot, onion and peppers.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Well done on parents evening, and F0xh0les is absolutely right that 29/30 is brilliant - there will always be one. Always.
I'm not sure about doing the chicken curry in the slow cooker - but I bet the people on the slow cooker thread will be able to help - frankly it is so quick to make from the packet involving little more than a hot kettle and some stirring that if all your other ingredients are cooked then it is just warming them through. I find it's made by the time the rice or chips or whatever are cooked/microwaved.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

The chinese chicken curry sounds like a brilliant rubber chicken recipe. - Weekend roast chicken, weekday 10 minute meal. You can cook and portion up rice, and microwave/ stir fry from frozen. It is still home cooked, just frozen in advance.
