  • Mine looks a lot worse before it gets better - main thing that puts me off doing it at all. Well done on what you've achieved. Fancy coming here and doing the same. My cleaner hasn't been since mid March LOL and you can tell!!!
I'm sure its fine! Lol :)
  • Forgot to say - listed some items on eBay over the weekend 2 are on auction, one is BIN. All have watchers so should have a small amount coming my way at the end of the weekend to pay OH some more money.

This morning I've chased our energy provider about the refund as they haven't responded to him but have responded about a different issue I raised using their contact form, so have chased it up that way and hopefully will hear something this week. If he wants to give me any of the money, I'll tell him to take whatever he would give me off of what I owe him.

Next week I get to hand in my formal resignation and also begin training my replacement. As it's an extremely quiet role I asked my boss if he would need to be here for the full day every day for 3 weeks, but he pointed out that after week 1 I can try and step back and towards the end should be able to start doing shorter days once the new guy is comfortable in the role. It also means I can have undisturbed lunch breaks as I won't need to be on call for them. When I hand in my notice I will also send an email requesting a calculation of any holiday pay that will be due. This should cover me for the week unpaid I am taking between the two jobs, so won't touch it as it'll be needed. Thankfully the new job also pays on the last working day of the month, so my budget shouldn't move around too much and I think I will end my employment here on the 10th, start the new one on the 21st and get paid the small amount from the 21st to the end of the month on the last working day of the month, so hopefully that will go seamlessly.

Got my butt off of the sofa last night and cooked up chicken and pasta for three days, and I am just taking veg out of the freezer in the mornings to fill up the rest of my plate and reheating it all at work. Need to be more serious about losing the weight! OH and I are going to the gym tonight and Friday night, and I will probably try and go one further time in the week.

  • Thanks both - just had the link emailed then you pretty much just return application forms by tomorrow for the landlord to look through and choose who they want, so have done that and just need to wait and see now, nothing more to be done :)

It will be great to be in a role which uses your brain more. Don't be surprised if you are tired when you first start

Definitely, it'll properly sink in when I hand in my notice but I'm already getting quite excited :)

Absolutely, I love being mentally busy! And agreed, it'll take some adjusting but thankfully the first 5 weeks classroom training is monday to friday normal hours (in fact, 2 less hours than I do now) so don't have to worry for a while yet :) (just got told off for posting too many times in 2 minutes :joy: )
  • Good morning everyone :)

Kitten is off to the vets this morning to get weighed as apparently from the weight I gave them yesterday (to get the right dosage for his next flea and worming treatments we can collect) he has lost weight. I have absolutely no doubt it's error on my part as the only way I could weigh him was weighing myself holding and then not holding him :joy: still, best to double check and they need his right weight for the stuff, anyway. OH is taking him in around an hour or so and should be able to pick his treatments up at the same time, then I'll sort him out when I get home this evening.

I've decided I need to do jobs I want to do at home BEFORE sitting down and chilling out as (like last night) I sit down for ten minutes when I walk in the door then before I know it, it's 9pm and too late to run the hoover round without disturbing next door and starting to get a bit too dark to start faffing around with the hose and watering my plants. So, clearly it needs to be jobs first then sit down :joy:

Right, off to check everything is up to date on YNAB x
