Happy weekend
I would love to be able to say I’ve achieved so much this weekend however after going back into the house after checking I could see where the oil of my car would come out, I was trying to stop the kitten door dashing so pulled the door shut quickly behind me whilst ushering him back inside and managed to shut the tip of my finger in the door
It was very bloody and is rather bruised however I don’t think I’m gonna lose my finger nail so there is that, so I am just chilling for the moment whilst it’s still throbbing awayhopefully I can get some more stuff done tomorrow

Thanks both
still sore but better than yesterday. Hoping to be able to clean it totally with a soak in the tub and paint it so no one notices and thinks I’ve just got a fat finger
Just cooked up a load of chicken and rice and made some dressings thanks to an article in women’s health about easy meal prep, so that should help massively with CICO.
Just got some ironing to attempt (the bare minimum of my work shirts) then I’ll be sorted for the week3 -
Morning MSE
Finger is getting there, managed to iron a work shirt and some trousers this morning, it's not too bad as long as I try not to catch it on anything which seems to be easier said than done
Weighed myself this morning and I am still a few lbs lighter than when I decided to lose some weight a few months ago so at least I haven't undone all of my hard work
We did a 9 mile walk around a lake yesterday which we haven't been to in over a year so that was a lovely way to pass some timemy foot is not thanking me for it today but it was worth it.
I have just gotten off of the phone with a cleaning company to get a quote for an end of tenancy clean as our landlord accepted an offer on the house, so we have to move out by mid-October at the very latest. The quote was reasonable and they work for a lot of the local estate agents when tenants don't clean properly when they vacate, so at least we have a target budget to get money together for, for that. Plus, no need to worry about cleaning it like with the last house, someone else can do it all for us!
Right, off to catch up on diaries and challenges x3 -
Hey everyone
My finger is getting there now, able to type with it little and often so it'll probably be a while before I finish this post
I have booked myself into the gym for Saturday morning, OH and I for the gym for Sunday morning and a tip slot booked for Sunday afternoon so it's already looking to be a productive weekend. As well as general clutter I am hoping to be able to get rid of the slats for our old bedframe, the sofa cushions from the old sofa and possibly some of the bedframe if the jigsaw we have ordered comes in time. I'm hoping we can go halves on the cost of a bulk waste collection at the end of the month to get rid of the main part of the old sofa and the headboard/drawer of the old bed. It's cheap here for bulk waste collections compared to where I last had to do one, under £60 for up to 12 items. I do have a rough plan to start slowly packing up items we barely use, too, so that by the time moving date comes (whenever that may be) there won't be much to do, especially as we are having the property professionally cleaned.
Got some eBay parcels to post today so nearly popped out on my lunch break to pick up some more tape and send them off then told myself off and I can just do that when I get home and post the one that doesn't need signing for tonight, and pop to the post office tomorrow to send off the other. I also need to stop at Boots on the way home and pick him up some roll on deodorant as, in the nicest way possible, his spray one clearly isn't very effective. No spends there, either, as I will use my boots points to pay for them.
I am really looking forward to getting back to the gym, and hoping OH and I can start playing squash again, too. We've both definitely been in better shape and both keep grumbling about it so this gives us no excuses3 -
Morning everyone
Having a very "meh" morning this morning, kitten woke me up at 5am scratching the bed and climbing on the headboard so I have ordered some sticky tape to put down in the two main areas. Wouldn't be so bad but I think it was gone 1am when I managed to fall asleep, and when I was trying to fall back to sleep post 5am I sort of wanted to murder OH a little as the kitten was playing with a crisp packet on his side of the room and he was awake but doing nothing to stop the noise. Grr, grr, grr.
Still no luck with being able to book any viewings for any new rented houses, have told OH (as he is off today) to PHONE and not email if any come on the market today, everyone else is obviously managing to be quicker than us.
Finger has gone back to being very sore today so not sure if I will need to get it looked at or not.
Anyway, enough grumbling. My nice fabrics arrived yesterday so sewed a few more hair scrunchies. Packaged up the parcels so just need to pop to the PO today and send those off then I don't need to worry about them any more.
Oh, made leek and potato soup in the slow cooker last night, was dead easy. OH had some when he got in from his AFD shift at work and said it was lovely2 -
Morning MSE
Feeling better today, just shut our bedroom door to keep the kitten out last night and realised when I got up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night that I had to reason to feel guilty for doing so, he was quite merrily sprawled out on the landing asleep and made no move to dash into our room when I went back to sleepthe tape should arrive today to cat proof the headboard and my side of the underneath of the bed, so will trial him in our room again tonight and go from there. Although, I did get to sleep in until my alarm went off rather than getting nudged awake. I'll see how we go.
OH and I had a bicker about having to move out last night that resulted in me sitting in the kitchen getting some SE work done, doing a face mask and tinting my eyebrows and generally chilling whilst he sat on the PS4, lost a lot of games and then his football team failed miserably in their game, so think I had a good night all things consideredanyway, I seem to be in control of finding a new house which is fine by me as I'm more open to phoning them to try and get viewings. If I have to drive god knows where on my lunch breaks to view houses, I will. Essentially we'd agreed we could afford to look abotu 15-30 minutes further away from our respective work places if the house was value for money to make up for the increased fuel, but now I'm getting asked my opinion on houses that are really expensive AND further away and I just don't think it's worth it, when we've got until October to move.
Anyway, that's my job going forwards now so I'll deal with whatever I can find.
On the home stretch to payday and have enough for all expected payments for the rest of the month, so no grumbles there3 -
Hope you had a better night last night and the finger is feeling better today.
You are being very productive with your decluttering! Hope you manage to get some viewings booked."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2 -
Hey,
Hope you got a much better rest last nightand good luck with the house hunting, hopefully you will find somewhere that suits your needs, although slightly unfair it falls on you but if your comfortable with knowing you get stuff sorted then its all good
