Just checking in :) you seem to be doing well with your pots and Ynab.  I have decided to close all my extra pots accounts and just have one savings acc with my lists on ynab as I was starting to get confused with them all... I was also becoming slightly concerned I was going to get charged with type of money laundering lol with all the switching and swapping I was doing   any tips on the masks? I'm going to give it a go tomorrow as I found some lovely ones on etsy for me and the boys which came to £30  :| don't get me wrong they were hand made and lovely but they will be lost in no time so I'm going to give it a go myself first lol xx
Haha, whatever works for you! It only helps me as I can't see it straight away to want to spend it :joy:

This is the one I have used so far (style 2) as it's relatively straight forwards! X

Thankyou I gave the pleated ones a go :) I think the material I chose was too soft though as the pleats don't seem to hold lol! It wasn't bad for a first attempt, had to hand sow as the machine wasn't working right and after 3 YouTube videos and taking it all apart I coudnt figure out where I was going wrong lol xxx
That's possibly where I went wrong with my first attempt then as my pleats didn't hold very well either :joy: this time I just ordered some fat quarters of fabric from Amazon and they're much sturdier lol :) x
  • I am the least creative/crafty person ever so am always in awe hearing people making anything 🤣 thankfully my sister in law is awesome at such things so she has by default become the go-to person in our family when anything needs made.

You're sounding really positive and on top of things again at the moment, well done x

I wish I thought to do that, unfortunately I bought half a length of lovely, (very soft) grey polka dot haha x

I made some with soft material too!  Although the pleats don't hold very well they are still usable as a face covering as the material spreads out to cover your nose, mouth & chin.  Admittedly the ones made from firmer material definitely hold the pleats better.  I've been using mine a little while now but I'll be glad when everyone is wearing them - roll on. next Friday!

Thanks beanie.  I'm fine, how about you?  I'm still posting on the SW thread and we're all missing you.  In fact you have been mentioned quite recently on there with people wondering how you are.

  • Happy Friday everyone :)

Three hours to go and counting, feeling very tired today but looking forward to two days off. Can't remember if I said I ended up ordering all the stuff for my car after I decided to service what I could by myself. I did the air and pollen filters, changed my wiper blades and gave things a general check over. Today I need to remember to take my oil home from work so I can do the oil and filter change on my car, then  I'm quite happy to reset the service indicator as I've checked all of my fluid levels, checked my tyres (tread and pressure and overall condition) and when I acquire a jack at some point then I will inspect the brakes and other bits and pieces that I can't do whilst it's on the ground. I also want to fit my rear part of my dash cam this weekend, and use the headlight restoration kit on my foggy headlight.

This is another month where I have gotten extra wages for cleaning, so some of that will go towards a cheap and cheerful Bluetooth stereo to go into my car, then the rest will go between overpaying debt and setting aside some money for our end of tenancy clean in a few months. We got told this morning that the landlord has accepted someone's offer, so we have 3 months then we need to be living elsewhere.

I also want to do a lot of meal prep after the weekly shop this weekend to help me get back into the swing of CICO. I am looking forward to the gym re-opening, I do plan to get back there as much as I can once it does.

Not much else to report here, really. Mid-month slog and all that :)
