I thought so, too  x
  • Morning all!

Trying to be productive but getting nowhere this morning haha. Logged online to pay the milkman and the invoice isn't up yet, so will try again tomorrow. Then I logged on to see if there was any work I could pick up, and nothing there at the moment so probably need to check later.

So, I have my pile of birthday and anniversary cards for March and April in front of me to write out, then I suppose I should just make an early start on the housework!

My free champers from Ocado arrives today, not sure whether it will eventually be drunk or be gifted, but it can just be set aside for now.

Back to the old-fashioned shopping tonight between Aldi and Sainsburys, also got a list of self-care items to tick off today, face mask, hair mask, tint eyebrows, etc.

We fitted a filter from Amazon on our shower head last night that is supposed to help with the very hard water that we've got. OH has eczema that won't completely go away and I've got a dry scalp that nothing seems to help, so thought we'd give it a go and see if it helps. It wasn't massively expensive, so not too annoying if it's no good, and a real bargain if it does help!

    Filter sounds interesting.

  • Hi all

Slightly behind on things, had one nice day visiting family on Sunday and then one absolutely awful RL day yesterday with OH where I genuinely thought we were splitting up, but I think we are sorted and in a good place again. Not a pleasant day in the slightest.

We got back late on Sunday and yesterday I barely ate so two days behind on the shred, but going to pick it back up again this evening.

Got my wage slip and there was a deduction as expected for the day I took off sick, but I have emailed my boss and questioned it as the figure is basically 2 days worth of pay.

On the plus side, I got a random payment from my old employer today as I think someone flagged up they had been paying holiday incorrectly for a few years so they went back 6 years and paid people to make up for it. This came in handy as I had a few unplanned spends when visiting family on an already tight budget, and forgot I needed to pay £30 yesterday for the wooden planters I was collecting from a local guy, so that came in very handy!

The planters are now sat in our hallway, going to pick up some exterior paint today and make them look nice & pretty before they go out into the garden :)

I need to go waaaaaaay out of my way tonight to go to a restaurant we stopped at on the way home on Sunday, where I managed to leave my handbag that's got my purse and a few bits inside it. Thankfully, my car keys and house keys had been left at home else it would have been a lot more urgent. Never done that before, very annoyed at myself.

Anyway, off to tinker with the budget to factor in the payment I got this morning, then get on with some work :)

    Hiya,

Glad u had a good time visiting family but sorry to hear you had a really pants RL day ☹ hopefully everything will work out ok with you guys.

You have done so well with the shred so don't let a few off days deter you. Once you are back on it you will get back in the groove again. Good news that the few days less income were balanced out and hopefully won't affect budget too much.

Keep going :) here is to a better day x

Thank you :) things should be alright, we had proper frank conversations rather than arguments so hopefully we both got through to each other :)

Here's to a better day indeed  x
  • Fixed the wage slip error - as I had taken a days leave before I was ill, payroll misread it as two days sick, so they are going to amend my figures and pay me the amended figure minus what I have already been paid at some point today :)

I definitely have the YNAB bug good & proper now I sorted the 2 wages every month issue. I found myself walking out of Wilko with my planned paint purchase, updating the app as I was doing so, to make sure everything was kept up to date and the budget matched my bank balances! :)

I need to stop and fill my car up on the way home, so I got an extra 3 days out of my tank. It would normally tide me over until Thursday but I need to do an extra 70-80 miles tonight to pick up my bag, so will use a lot more than usual.

I will try and get on here when I get home from that long trip to update my goals from the start of the thread, though admittedly I don't think there is much to update from last month :joy:
  • Well done for keeping on top of the wage issues and YNAB despite a challenging day yesterday, hope you're feeling a bit better and the journey to pick your bag up wasn't too bad x
