LL - you have to be practical and do what works for you and your family. it is a very hard time. People will remember employers compassion and support ( or lack of) at this time and reevaluate life choices. I have been very lucky but others have not been given autonomy and compassion.
MRS porridge - I wish I could dress make but I'm a bit bad at practical work. it will save you a fortune on new items as tweaks and a dart here and there will turn the blah into the ou la la .
I am fasting for 14 hours daily so far no issues. I'm doing a medium breakfast and tiny lunch and normal dinner. It's just to limit my time eating. It might free up head space from the boredom of eating. Hopefully I will be able to concentrate on different activities.

LL, I can understand how you feel about your family. I have been taking my closest grandchildren out for a walk for a couple of hours each week, althoigh I don't go in their house and they don't come to mine. They only live round the corner and we are out in the sea air all the time. It gives their Mum a breather and allows us to see each other. But 2m distancing is impossible and I cannot see how schools will be able to cope when (if) children go back on June 1st. It seems to me that the government is not taking parents' and teachers' concerns seriously. I have another DGS who lives over 100 miles away and can't wait to be able to visit him and my son and DIL.

Good morning lovely ladies
One thing I forget to mention yesterday......Actually it's a confession.😞 Since Christmas and especially during this period of isolation I have regained 1 stone. I am so cross, but the rot stops now. Yesterday I stocked up on lots of nice healthy fresh stuff, meat, fish, fruit and veg and am now back on the WW. I have almost finished the kitchen, except for a bit of woodwork and that can wait whilst I have a little break.Without wishing to sound selfish and vain it's time to just focus on me for a while. I haven't been sleeping too well either, although thankfully last night was much better. So it's time to get to get back into some good routines. Sleep, exercise, healthy eating and plenty of fabbing. So today it's a mini skin peel, manicure and pedicure. Still experimenting with not washing my hair quite so often and I think it's working - have gone from washing it every day to every 2nd or 3rd day. Its still growing of course and I quite like the longer length although it could do with a trim at least. I'm going to get my son to trim the ends and just level it off for now. I'm also taking extra care with my teeth at the moment because I'm well over due a visit to the hygienist. The thing I'm really looking forward to is a good massage. 😂
Have a lovely weekend. Enjoy your bank holiday.9 -
I bought a new nude/pink nail polish and I put it on today and put lotion on my hands and nails. I shaved my legs and used my pumice stone on my feet in the bath too.
I am getting really sick of being in the house so much but my husband and I are researching the coastal areas we want to move to. I really want things to go back to normal. We were looking at a retirement place that looks lovely but it is for over 50s. My husband will be 50 this year but he looks extremely young for his age and I will think they will think we are there looking for a home for our parents!
I am going to declutter so much when this is over. I am looking at my wardrobe and I need some new dresses for when I go back to going to concerts and restaurants again. I have been wearing the same three black maxi dresses, a navy knee length dress and another short spotty navy dress over and over recently.

wednesday- be really careful if considering a community that limits sale to over 55 years. It can put you at risk of difficult resale. please read the article that was in the guardian last year with service charges and council tax can be higher on certain flats. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2019/nov/16/flat-retirement-builder-value-mccarthy-stone

I'd agree with caveats about buying a retirement property or any property with a service charge. What I would suggest Wednesday is that, as you and your husband don't drive, you look at local amenities like shops and GPs and dentists and public transport when choosing a location. Anecdotally, when my DGD came back from university in London she found it odd that you had to wait for buses, check timetables and plan journeys as she'd got used to just looking at the TfL app on her phone knowing that a bus or a train would be along any minute.
It's a lovely day here today. It's such an irony that all the Bank Holidays during lockdown (Easter, VE Day and now Whitsun) have been glorious when so many outdoor events would have been successful and venues thriving.
To be honest, we've not made huge changes to how we're behaving since the lockdown was marginally eased. We're still just food shopping as rarely as possible and taking a walk almost daily. I suppose we could individually visit one friend or one of us could drive the 30+ miles to meet our DD2 in a park but we're reluctant to choose which one of us and whether we want to choose between her or our SIL and DGD so we're sticking to talking to her on the phone. My girlfriend who lives alone is in isolation (following chemo) could do with a visitor so I could stand outside her house or even stretch the rules go into her garden. It's not that the lockdown rules have frightened me it's just that I suppose, like most people, I'm naturally law abiding and despite my anger at some of the illogicality in the pronouncements I'm trying to support the national cause.
I reallyy must do a pedicure today. My nails are getting far too long and I'd like to paint my nails in case I want to wear sandals.

Hello Ladies,
For me, when it comes to the easing of lockdown, it has made little difference to how I want to behave. I am still only going out of my home for shopping, otherwise I am staying at home. As I now own some washable face masks, I will wear one whenever I think it is necessary when I go out.
Today is my daughter's 28th birthday. The years go by so quickly. Before Covid-19 she had to take her passport with her everywhere to prove that she was over 18.It will take her at least another decade to appreciate always looking much younger than her chronological age.
Here she is with her 19 year old brother before lockdown

Yes, I agree Maman, we are looking at places along the C2C line so it is still fairly close to London. I need to be close to a GP and a vet definitely. It will be weird not being able to use my Oyster card anymore after we move!
Your daughter does look very young for her age Sugarbaby. I hope she has a happy birthday.
I was just saying on another thread on here that I have lost weight during the lockdown. I did come off my medication and lost the 7 lbs I gained on it but now I have lost more and almost lost a stone now.
It must be from not going to restaurants/shops/cafes during the weeks. We have had a few takeaways still. Oh well, I'm not complaining anyway. Just a bit of a surprise as it seems like most people are complaining about gaining weight being indoors so much.
I saw this today.Friends meeting in park fail to recognise each other Hilarious.2025 GOALS
