I can’t see me rushing back into pre lockdown mode either. I still want to protect my pregnant DIL and my DS of course, who has asthma. Just not worth the risk. And, if I’m honest, I don’t think the way restaurants etc will have to operate will be particularly conducive to an enjoyable dining experience. Instead we will have family gatherings where we can relax and enjoy a more pleasant ambience. We are all good cooks and we can always go a “bit fancy” if we want to make it more special.DS and GS here today giving DIL a break so she can prepare for a webinar on Wednesday. It’s the way forward for the next few weeks. We won’t see anyone else so should be ok in our little bubble.I know I’m getting political and I apologise but I am so disappointed at what Cummings has done. Our citizens have sacrificed so much to follow the guidelines that he helped draw up and he has just thrown it in our faces. It just beggars belief. A complete betrayal of our trust. 🤬. Talk about a kick in the teeth.7 -

Gorgeous family photos. Thanks sugarbaby and LL.
I have to agree about Cummings LL. I'm particularly angry at the way the word 'integrity' was misused last night. It makes all the thanks and praise poured on the British people in recent weeks for staying at home to protect the NHS and save lives absolutely hollow and insincere. Apparently he's going to do some sort of Press Conference later but IMO the damage is done. He's gone against the instructions to stay at home with symptoms and twisted the leeway in the regulations for emergencies. Assuming this aunt is the only person who could look after the boy (which I'd be surprised if that's true) then he could have made a contingency plan by phone with his sister to come and look after the child as and when an emergency occurred. All that happened was that his wife had symptoms, he feared he might get it and (I think) subsequently did. Neither became ill enough to be hospitalised and all they needed was some food delivered which could have easily been arranged in London. I'm so disappointed that both the PM and government ministers (who were whipped to tweet support for him) have shown so little integrity.

LL i'm fuming, but not surprised at Boris' support for Cummings. He's severely underestimating the public's long term response to this, as well as a lot of his own party members 🙄
I'm literally sick n tired, of this whole saga now .Even the person who instigated the NHS clap, sounds to be feeling the same

Yeah Dominic Cummings seems like an arrogant twit. You can change one letter from that to see what I really think of him.4

Reposted the pic for you....
watched Cummings - words fail me. Absolutely beyond the pale. Such Breathtaking arrogance and a complete betrayal of all the millions of us who have kept our side of the bargain.
I saw on Twitter that some NHS consultants who actually worked in Covid wards are considering resigning if he doesn’t go. I can’t say I blame them. What a slap in the face for them. The cynic in me says that he must have some hold over Boris Johnson, some dire secret that could bring him and the government down if it got out. I can’t think of any other reason why he wasn’t sacked because Johnson must realise that the country has now lost all confidence and he has lost all credibility. We Brits are a forgiving race, tolerant and easy going. The government have made mistakes but the public have, on the whole, shown remarkable patience and forbearance but the contempt in which Cummings holds the British people is truly unforgivable. As one journalist put
it.....he hasn’t just flouted the spirit of lockdown he drove a horse and carriage through it.5 -
Agree it was appalling LL. I wasn't impressed with Boris and the 'I'm sorry if people feel that way' either. They're determined not to apologise and brazen it out, hoping that with no parliament this week that it will all blow over. ☹️4

Lovely photos, thanks all for sharing. I will not comment on the political stuff, others here have expressed it so well.
Such a lovely sunny and very hot day again, OH and I have been taking some early(ish) morning walks in the parkland of a local estate, owned by an Earl no less. LOL. Beautiful Oak trees, wild flowers and amazing bird song. I am up to 2.75 miles each walk now, so happy with this as had great difficulty in walking very far at all before my RA was controlled.
I am so in need of a haircut, fringe trimmed now and then, but not brave enough to do more, but will be staying safe until end of June so will be like a shaggy sheep dog before then. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)5
