Good morning all. I follow the posts with interest as this lock down continues. Sugarbaby you look fab, Floss welcome back after such a terrible time. Wednesday hope you are well soon. For me lockdown's been fairly difficult after only losing my Mick last July. However, I am in school approx once a week. I am also trying to get a few jobs done at home. I was desperate for my hair doing but like many of you I have cut my own fringe! also used a clairol root touch up which I was impressed with, it did the trick!! Yesterday was a lovely day, wall to wall sunshine. I am missing my swimming and have gained a few pounds, need to try harder. Enjoy your saturday everyone8

Hello Ladies,
Welcome back Floss. You have had a tough and very eventful life over the last 18 months. I hope your future is now positive
LL it sounds as if you had a really great day yesterday with family and at the street party. Good on you.
Ladies thank you for the kind and complimentary words. I am feeling much more like myself before Covid 19 paid me a visit. I may have to put up with the lingering cough and the fatigue, but they will not curtail my recovery or my life in general.
The only good thing about this new version of the website, is being able to add photographs easily. It saves me having to write a detailed description of what I am wearing and my accessories.
I just realised that I am such an avid buyer from eBay, that everything I was wearing, including my solid gold jewellery were all purchased from eBay sellers. I also bought the leather sofa a few years ago from a lovely eBay seller for only £40 even though it was nearly new.Ironically as I live in a maisonette, the cost of 2 removal men collecting it from the seller and delivery of the sofa into my Living room cost me £50, so it was another great bargain buy from eBay.

I watched the coverage of VE Day last night and I thought the BBC did an excellent job, given the restrictions. Being a big fan of Call the Midwife, I was surprised to see Helen George (aka Trixie Franklin) singing. She has a really good voice, ideal for sing a long songs.
That sounds like a lovely party with your family LL. I had been hoping that sort of small gathering (family and friends not from the same household) would be officially allowed after tomorrow but now I'm not so sure. My SIL has a big birthday at the beginning of June and we'd love to meet up if only for a socially distanced picnic but it may be frowned on.
I remember Stephen Kinnock got into trouble for visiting his father on his birthday.

It's glorious here again today, probably the last warm day for the time being. We have a friend who's shielding because of COPD so we're going to drop off some food and a few books on his doorstep. It's about 5 miles from home so we might take a walk in that area for a change.
I wonder what the scope of treatments will be LL. I'd love it if podiatrists were able to work and, while it hasn't affected us yet, dentists too. At the moment all our dentist (and I think all our area) is offering is advice on pain relief and antibiotics if needed. I know there's an element of insurance involved but it'll be interesting to see if we have any reduction in fees.
Glad to hear that the root touch up worked sheila. I've used the John Frieda highlight spray a couple of times but don't want to overdo it. Usually at this time of the year, my hair goes very blonde from the sunshine in Turkey, but that's not likely to happen any time soon. What I am pleased about though is that thanks to this lovely thread I don't have to make a special effort to be 'bikini ready'. I try to be the best version of myself, all the year round whether I'm going anywhere or not. It makes me feel good.

Hello everyone.
I was just catching up on the YouTubers I follow. There is a young woman who lives in New York and she was showing her morning skincare routine. She was saying that skincare products have a label on them that said how quickly you use them up. I really hadn't noticed that before but they do.
She is in her twenties and she was saying she uses SPF everyday to prevent wrinkles and I thought that I should make sure I do that every morning as I sometimes forget and obviously I have almost 20 years on her age!She uses about 5 products in the morning.
After I wash off my make-up tonight I am going to use my vitamin C serum and then my moisturiser afterwards and tomorrow make sure I use my three products from now on. The hydrating product, my usual moisturiser and then the sun protection.
I got a leaflet through the door for charity donations so I will put all the things I want donated out on the collection day next week. It's quite handy as long as they collect it!
I finally was able to go out for a walk today. It's lovely weather and I was out for an hour. I wore a knee length dress with sandals. It's supposed to be much more chilly tomorrow.4 -

Cooler and very windy here. Not been out since Saturday but just because we can go out every day we don't have to.
Other than chores (did my ironing today), I've been cooking and knitting. Having finished a number of tea cosies (with a super easy bobble making tip from Kirsty), I'm now onto knitting some poppies. Early for November but I'm sure they'll be welcome in the CS later in the year.
On Friday, I looked out some family wartime photos to share with my brothers. Having got the box out I made a very small start on sorting them yesterday. I've separated them into categories (wartime, grandparents, parents, us as children etc). I discarded a few repeats and views. I'm giving it some thought but I'm thinking perhaps some sort of timeline might be the basis for how I arrange them.
From a fabbing point of view it really is interesting to look at fashions and hairstyles over the years. One of the really striking things is how relatively timeless fashion has become. Seeing photos of my grandmothers in their early 60s is amazing. The 'granny' shoes, the tight perms, the matronly dresses. Those are definitely vintage fashions I won't be repeating.
I'm feeling a bit tired today, no idea why. I think I'll put on some make up to lift me.

Yes, a much cooler day. I was in school today (my turn), not in again until next Thursday. Only a handful in, went fairly quick, a friend was also in so plenty to catch up on. Lots more jobs to do while Im off, not sure at what point we will be back, who knows!

Lots of questions still to be answered about schools sheila. ☹️ At the moment, the pupils planning to go back are the hardest to teach social distancing. What really matters is that everyone is safe, pupils and staff alike. 🙂
I've done very little today but looking forward to going a little further afield after Wednesday. We can get to the seaside in about 20 minutes. I don't want to sit on the beach but I love walking by the sea and the smell of it. We can take a flask of coffee too. The weather isn't important so maybe quieter on a cooler day. 🙂5 -
I'm looking forward to being able to travel for a walk from Wednesday, I'm not working this week so might take advantage and pootle to the coast for a bit of beach & sea.
