Well done chanie. I usually put something in the food bank when I'm in Sainsburys but haven't been there lately. I noticed today that one of our neighbours has a collection box outside so I'll make a point of buying extra this week. 😊10

Fantastic news this Morning re vaccine. 🥂💃🥳. I am in group 5, so obviously a bit of a wait but that's ok. I can hang onWe are in Tier 3 restrictions, but luckily salons have opened. I've booked a massage for Monday. And I think I've got a hair on Friday, just need to double check.Onwards and upwards, ladies!!! It's almost over. 😁👍11

It looks like I will be waiting for a vaccine for ages as I'm in such a low risk group!
Still it's good news.
We are in tier 2 now.
I suppose I could book the chiropodist this month. I want to get my prescriptions sent to my home so I have to sort that out today. I keep having to pick up my thyroid meds at the pharmacy every two months and it doesn't feel very safe in there. My dog has to have a video appointment tonight with a vet as we need more of his medication.
I have the online concert tomorrow night to look forward to at least!7 -
It's good news about the vaccine but I'm not getting too excited yet. I'm not a natural pessimist ( Really! 😉) but I'm going to expect the worst and hope for the best. I was so disappointed last week when the Tier system was announced and my dancing and seeing small groups of friends didn't return in favour of 24 hour shopping. I don't want to get down again.
If responses on here are anything to go by then Arcadia wasn't well used . What about Debenhams? Ours didn't reopen after the last lockdown so those local jobs have already gone. Previously they'd been shutting down floors, slowly dying. We've shopped there a lot in the past . They really had an edge when they first introduced Designers at Debenhams like Jasper Conran and Janet Reger . I bought my Dualit toaster there and lots of Royal Doulton porcelain. Unfortunately (for them) that was probably 20 years ago!
I'd like to have a massage but the mse in me always uses Groupon and there don't seem to be any available in my area. I suppose that's a good thing for the economy if the local salons are doing so well that they don't need Groupon. 🤔
I do hope your dog behaves for his video appointment Wednesday. I wish him the best of health but it did amuse me. 🤣8 -
Maman - I think it is just the policy of the vet to see the pet before they can issue medication. I'm not sure what they can tell from seeing him in a video really!
I wore my denim jacket out today over my jumper but it is too chilly and I should have at least bought my gloves out. Coat weather now, I think.
I'm hoping that my husband and I can go out after Christmas for a meal if it is people from the same household. I might even go to central London as I haven't been there since March. His sister has a birthday meal next week that we won't be able to go to now, but I'm not really bothered to be honest.

When sukey asked yesterday I checked on the rules for eating out in Tier 2. The regulations just say that you can eat inside only with people from your own household or support bubble for a substantial meal. The other bits and pieces are from 'government spokesmen' and ministers. We know about the Scotch egg (not that you'd be choosing that Wednesday😊) but the spokesman said that no lingering afterwards was allowed. 🤔

I'd be surprised if it's enforced too hard though as pubs/restaurants like you to spend as much as possible. When we went out just before lockdown when Rule of 6 was in place we were told that restaurants had late and early sittings ( roughly 6pm and 8 pm) so there was an expectation that you had until it was time for the second sitting to arrive or to get out before the (then) 10 pm curfew.
We've still got our theatre seats for December 12th with another couple of friends.

When we booked London was in Tier 1 with the Rule of 6 applying so we could sit together and have a meal beforehand. Not sure how it's going to work now??🤔9 -
Chanie good on you for donating the toys to the Salvation Army and making up the 4 parcels. for donation5

I'm so pleased we got out for a walk on Tuesday as the weather has turned really bad. It's been raining most oft the night and it's still raining!☹
Yesterday I polished the very few bits of brass I have especially the candlesticks inherited from my grandmother. Lighting them does help to cheer things up.
I also cleaned my 'charm' bracelet. It's one of the very few pieces of costume jewellery I have. It's mainly Troll beads (very similar to Pandora) . Sadly, on Monday, I have to go to a funeral of an old friend. She and I were shopping together when I bought a number of the beads so I thought I'd wear it on Monday and wanted it to look sparkling. I have one of these 'magic' cleaners from my aunt.

I'm told you can do something similar with foil but I haven't tried that.
I'm being selective with news at the moment. Most Thursdays I watch Question Time. IMO it went downhill when Fiona Bruce took over from David Dimbleby as she can't control people shouting from the audience. It's improved a little as the very small audience is on Zoom. I'll wait to see who's on the panel tonight and then decide. I watched the 'Red, White and Blue' film on catch-up last night. It's about institutional racism in the Met Police set in the 80s. I found it uncomfortable but very well done and moving.
Have a good day, whatever you're up to! 😊6 -
Sorry about your friend Maman.
It was very chilly here last night. I think there was sleet here last night as it didn't look like rain but it was dark so I couldn't tell. I couldn't find my black gloves anywhere and only found a grey pair.
I just went for a walk even though the weather has changed here and it poured down the whole time. It is milder though at least. I wore a different outfit, a black short dress with a black roll neck jumper with my denim jacket and black boots and tights. I walked past a woman and she said "I love your umbrella", my leopard print one.
I wanted to make an effort for the concert tonight, even though it is online!
I was thinking that roll neck was a little tight when I wanted to wear it last autumn so I'm glad I kept it. I was thinking about my trip away to the coast last autumn. That feels like it was about 10 years ago! I asked my husband was that last year or the year before? He said it was 2019. Strange. A different world.
I am going to order some stuff from Superdrug as I am low on all my lipsticks. It's annoying as I think they stopped stocking the brand in the colour I liked. I might get some face masks, the skincare masks, not the ones we have to wear in public! I am also going to do a hair treatment this afternoon as I look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards after being out in the rain.2025 GOALS

Maman - My local Aldi has a food basket. I didn't buy anything shelf-stable apart from pasta sauce- a bit unfestive. I am going to go back and buy something nice and a few practical items. I had a look through my cupboards and have enough in reserve to feed a small army. I can spare a little to help someone else. I am going to give a few tins and jars of stuff everyone likes. In my local Aldi you cant give nappies and they really promoting sweets and selection boxes for donation, I don't understand that because not everyone will eat chocolate but some families will use nappies and baby wipes.
wednesday- imagine a meal out that you didn't have to cook. I hope you get to have a great meal out soon. I have not gotten into a confident headspace regarding eating out. I have bought tea which is an achievement for me.
Your brolly sounds fab- it makes an outfit.
Time this year is not constant; defying the laws of physics- it seems to speed up and seem so long. The same old same old is boring and without landmarks for memory. All this year I have to tell customers that documents have expired and need to be renewed and to be told but it was a month ago. I have gotten used to having to print of scans and provide evidence- people just can not believe how time has flown. I am used to having to joke well June was six months ago- not that it feels like it.
