morning all, thanks everyone for your kind wishes. Hopefully the fireplace will be sorted this morning. I had to inform school that I would be late in this morning. My Daughter was here last time they came.I've started watching The Crown, just two episodes up to now but enjoying it.I too am a big fan of the Jo malone fake candles. I recently bought one of the woodwick? ones with the proper wood wick, they make a crackling sound. The jar though is very black, will be glad when it's finished if I'm honest, its very smokey!I go from having stacks of socks to almost none for some reason. Then I end up wearing Christmas ones. I remember going to the hospice for my counselling/pampering session back in probably february and having Christmas ones on. The young therapist said that she packs hers away with her Christmas decs each year.Enjoy your day everyone8

Hello Ladies,
Maman, we usually have a traditional Christmas dinner, but we no longer have a turkey, as some years back, my children admitted that they were not bothered about having a turkey. Last year we had a lovely loin of pork joint on Christmas Day.
I got up this morning raring to go, so I did some more of the deep clean of my Living room. I have paced myself and forced myself to do only 2 hours on any given day. I am resting now, watching Strictly Come Dancing again, as I absolutely love it.

Sorry the odd socks aren't popular. I often wear odd socks. I just decided one day that life was too short to stress about socks. With 4 kids, DH and me the trail of odd socks was so long, where do the missing socks go? So I wear odd socks, I wear ankle boots and trousers so I figure no one can see them.
At the other extreme I have a drawer with my "hospital" things in. Being rushed into hospital a few years ago it was a nightmare trying to get the right things brought in so I have a book by an author I like but haven't read, a charger for my phone, a couple of new nighties and pants, a new tooth brush, face cream and tooth paste. I may never go into hospital again but I am not going in with my scruffiest nightie and nothing to read.
I used to know someone who had a professional photo done, hair freshly done and full makeup, so that they'd have a nice photo for her Mass card when she died, she wasn't ill and was probably late 40s or maybe early 50s at the time. Now that's going a bit far for me but I hate photos of me, the only one I like is me holding one of my children when I was pregnant with another but I don't think that would be appropriate for my Mass card.8 -
I took part in a live YouTube thing at the weekend. It was fun talking to different people on the chat part. The men on the YT channel responded to a few of my comments.
I'm using my light box just now for 15 minutes before my bath. I keep forgetting to use it so I am going to leave it by my laptop so I can use it each day. I'm wearing a pink M&S jumper that I also forgot about today just over a maxi dress as usual. I'm going to get out and get some real daylight and feed the birds.
I got sent a 2021 calendar from a charity I support but I already bought an academic one so I will donate it when the charity shops open up again. I'm going to go through our wardrobes as well. I want to get some grey boots if I can find some. I bought a grey bag in the summer but I don't have any footwear to match it.

Lots of people seem not to like turkey sugarbaby. I actually like the dryness of it but only have it at Christmas which makes it a bit special. I do buy turkey mince occasionally during the year but that doesn't feel the same because of different recipes.
I think my sock comment was more about choices when saving money pixie, hope I didn't offend. I have many pairs the same (black bamboo) so it makes life easier. I think we all draw the line in different places. I know it makes me feel better since I've deliberately bought leisure clothes to wear at home. It's been a particular bonus during lockdown. Previously I'd have just put on my 'second best' jeans or a knobby jumper.
Pink is a departure from your usual colour scheme Wednesday. I know you wear maxi dresses all the year round but they are a good combination with boots in the winter. It's still foggy here, not sure if it will clear up at all.
I have Christmas gloves sheila, a bit like finger puppets, and I pack those away every year. I have a drawer with some pre Christmas things that I get out before the decorations go up. Tomorrow I'll be getting out my perpetual Advent calendar and I have one of those count down to Christmas things as well. It's a bit like this:
Toyvian 2Pcs Christmas Wooden Advent Calendar Xmas Countdown Calendar Tabletop House Shaped Calendar Centerpiece for Home Office: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home
Soon I'll start using my Christmas tea towels and tea cosy too. 🎄

I like that Christmas decoration Maman.
I've had fairy lights up for a while in my living room and my bedroom but I don't think I will bother with a tree.
I didn't wear a coat out earlier but I think it's definitely cold enough for one now. I will wear my new (charity shop) purple coat tomorrow for my walk. It is a dark, dismal, drizzly day out there! OMG, awful weather.I have pulled the curtains and put the lights and my scented candle on and I'm just listening to music (Jamiroquai) and waiting for my Amazon Fresh delivery later. We are going to watch more Star Trek Discovery tonight.

That sounds really cosy Wednesday. I've had fairy lights in my fireplace for a while and I'm really happy with the effect.
It's quite mild here but really, really gloomy. I did go out for a while, mainly because I wanted petrol from Asda and did a few bits of shopping while I was there. At least, in the shops, it feels fairly normal. Unfortunately, we'll be missing out and won't be to do 24 hour shopping in Primark!!🤣

Evening. I found Primark mens socks for Mick after his diagnosis with MND, they were stretchy and easy for me to put on for him. I wear them now. Finally , sorted mark out on fireplace, they had to use razor thing, it was some kind of sticky residue that had set, like glue I suppose.Wanting some new cushions so perhaps a trip to Dunelm at the weekend. I also need some individual Christmas cards and some gifts so I am looking forward to shops reopening. I received a £15 Marks and Spencer beauty voucher , a premuim club treat but all the beauty products are upstairs in my M and S which was closed. That will reopen this week, maybe cafe will for take away, I get coffee vouchers with this membership and have lots!6

I like turkey mince and even cut up turkey breast. However, the roast turkey is very dry and difficult to use up. The same old turkey curry and sandwiches just don't appeal greatly to me. I prefer beef or fish. What we enjoy is so personal, it's a pity we feel that we have to eat certain foods even if we don't enjoy them.

WEDNESDAY , You'll love the air fryer, they're fab for veggie stuff 😘
We are in tier 3 now .Very sad, as our numbers have been decreasing quite a lot too 😢
I cheered myself up, by buying myself a few treats on Amazon .Wireless earphones, a yankee candle and Clarins hand n nail cream .It's absolutely brill, for my brittle nails .
I also got some biotin shampoo, as my hair is still coming out in handfuls
Hope You're all ok xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
