lovely to see your post LL,what beautiful words. A massive well done on the weight loss. I am hoping to get my new tree up next weekend after carpet fitter's been. I have been a bit low due to the problem with the fireplace which hopefully will be resolved tomorrow. Today I've got some wrapping done, my Great Neices Christmas gifts will be whinging there way to Derby tomorrow evening. Been out in the back, emptying pots, sweeping decking, bit of weeding of the block paving. Cooked a chicken, roast chicken dinner for myself and youngest Daughter. We will then enjoy facetiming my eldest and speaking to my Grandson. It's a bit of a sad time. My Mick loved Christmas, it was his favourite time of the Year, he always called it 'Chrimbo'. He loved 'trimming' up, making his own cranberry sauce and just family time. I wonder what he would have made of this pandemic?Hope that you post again soon LL x9

Thanks for posting your meal sugarbaby. You always go for such exotic flavours😋. Will you be having a traditional Christmas dinner?🤔
Good to see you posting LL and many congratulations on the 5lbs weightloss. I agree with you completely about the self care. I don't think it's vanity. I think it's high standards. 😉 I was reading a thread the other day about saving pennies. I like the challenge of mse but there are lengths that I wouldn't go to. One poster was advocating wearing odd socks because the pairs had got lost/worn out . I do appreciate that some people are desperate for money but I think some others lose the plot.
Which room sprays do you use? Last week I bought one of Aldi's candles. I really like the Jo Malone rip offs and they now have a small version for IIRC £1.99. I like the basil and mandarin one. I have a 3 wick large one ready to use, probably over Christmas.
Sorry to hear there are problems with the fireplace Sheila. I hope it will be sorted very soon. 😊 It reminded me of when we had our fireplace done. We had the surround made by a joiner as a copy of the original one that the previous owners had ripped out. Then the actual fireplace people came and did the tiling in situ. They did it with the tiles laid face down in a frame but when they lifted it into position the tiles were all different shades of white! It was just before Christmas so too late to rectify it and we couldn't have the chimney breast painted. Instead I stuck Christmas cards all over the bare plaster until they could come back in the new year and finish the job.
I've not done much today other than potter about, read the papers. listen to the radio and cook. I'm still feeling up and down about the sanctions. I think I just feel cheated that this week should have been the end of lockdown but it's coming back under the tier system. I'd love to see the evidence for the decisions especially as the Christmas rules seem so potentially dangerous compared with the tier rules which just seem to penalise the hospitality industry at the expense of others. 🤔10 -
Technically.....it's not a proper room spray. It's actually Aldi's Lime Basil and Mandarin eau de toilette. Didn't like it on my skin, somehow it didn't quite work on me as a personal fragrance so rather than throw it away I use it as a room spray. 😂. Makes the house smell gorgeous. It was around £4 if I remember right.I agree the Aldi's range of candles are just as good as Jo Malone and a fraction of the price. I love them, No 1 the lime and basil range is my favourite. I have noticed Asda also do lime and basil, not tried it yet. I also like Asda's jasmine candles, lovely delicate smell.Just watching Oceans 8. Some fabulous women - all super cool and dead glamourous. 😁10

Thanks LL. It seems we have similar tastes. 😁 I'll try the Asda jasmine. I have lovely memories of the very first time we went to Turkey on holiday. We arrived late evening to a wonderful scent of the jasmine curled round the door of our hotel. Happy Days, I do miss travelling. 😊
