Well hello Maman. How lovely to see you back again. We've missed you. 😊.Good Mornjng lovely ladies. It's a lovely Mornjng here so going to do some more planting today. Then when I have finished getting all dirty I am going to have a nice long soak and a pampering session before heading off to sleep over at DS and DILs.It's the nearest I can get to a weekend mini break at the moment. 😂🤣.Apparently the R rate is rising again......😞 It's not looking good. I shall heed SFTs reminder that previous generations had to endure far worse than our lockdowns. I shall remind myself that I am safe at home not stuck at home. I can keep myself occupied. Just hunker down out of harms way, keep busy. I have books on kindle, can watch Netflix and Prime. I've got plenty of projects planned. The time will pass well enough.Like SFT said previous generations suffered far worse. It's true, we have our creature comforts. I often think that (Most of us) live like royalty now compared with how our forbears lived. Even "ordinary people" have cosy homes, central heating and plenty of food and warm clothing, although it's always sad to see how many are homeless, even in the rich West.Maman. Well done on the red velvet slip dress for £1. What a bargain, lovely for Christmas. We have a Cancer Research clearance shop too where everything is £1. I always pop in and have a look. I have struck gold once or twice in there.Chanie....some lovely birthday treats there. Interesting about the jeans. I did read that flared styles and the like were making a comeback. Tbh I don't really feel comfortable in skinnies, I usually go for straight legged rather than proper skinnies and I quite like bootcut ones. And I love those 70s style wide legged palazzo pants, they can be both comfortable and glam. 😂.Have a great weekend. Keeeep fabbing.4

Welcome back Maman, lovely to see you again. Hope you didn't get banned for leading me into a life of crime with the foot masks!
Chanie thanks for the tips, sounds sensible. I am going to try and get an appointment for the tip for early next week, I think I will easily have a car load. The big job is going to be dismantling a bed and getting rid of it. DH has finally given in and I am ordering a new electric bed. He kept saying it wasn't worth it, they are about £2k, but honestly it will make life better for both of us so he has finally agreed. It means sleeping in one of thekid's old rooms as it won't be delivered for 2 months but it means I will have a nice empty room to blitz, not sure if we are going to shampoo the carpet or buy a new one. I might try the shampoo and see how it looks. I'm hoping to go out tomorrow and buy all new bedding, well there has to be a bit of a fun element not just hard graft.5 -
Apparently we have some good weather next week, which I plan on enjoying, while it lasts. It reminded me that we were supposed to be going on a day trip to France today and the plan was to spend the day on the beach. I booked it when the travel restrictions were lifted, on the basis that we could reschedule if we weren’t allowed to travel. I didn’t book specifically for my birthday, it was just that this date was the first one with the cheapest tickets after the summer. I have rescheduled for October, but I suspect this will be unlikely as well. The employee I spoke to said we had a year from booking to use the tickets, so we have plenty of time.
The discussions about decluttering and the potential threat of another lockdown has motivated me to complete the remaining jobs I have at home. The children have been back at school for just over a week and I have enjoyed some children free time, but now it’s time to get moving and keep busy. I don’t want to fall into the cycle of becoming lazy and I feel I could easily fall into it, if I’m not careful.Next week is pretty busy with a couple of appointments. I also have to do a tip run and more sorting of paperwork, which I’m hoping I can just shred. Luckily, I have already done the bulk of the work, but I have a couple of ‘hotspots’ I didn’t get around to sorting.5 -
Hello Maman. Your ban has been quite the hot topic on here, glad it was only for two weeks!
The clothes dyeing came out quite well yesterday. One jumper and a shirt didn't dye and I put the jumper in a donation bag I'm making up for a charity shop. Roughly 70% of my wardrobe is blue and then 20% is red now.I should look for other colours next time I'm shopping. I will look up the colour advice again to see what other colours suit me.
I'm reading another book today after finishing some housework. I am getting through the books on my kindle quite quickly now as I had loads of them built up. I should have looked for paper books in the chazzer yesterday to go in my hobby box. It did feel good getting out and doing something "normal" again.
I started watching a US TV show last night. It's called Why Women Kill and it is about 3 housewives, one in the 60s, one in the 80s and one in present day. It's a comedy drama and I'm quite enjoying it. I think it is on Alibi channel if anyone is interested. Why Women Kill (Official Site) Watch on CBS All Access5 -
Hello Ladies,
Chanie you got yourself some really good items. I hope you find a really good restaurant for your birthday meal
Wednesday my daughter and I watched the first 2 episodes of Why Women Kill last night and really enjoyed them.
I am going out to the pub that I used to go to regularly before Covid-19 came along, tonight and I am looking forward to seeing what it is like now. I am going to pamper myself today to prepare for my night out.3 -
Maman, good to see you've been let off the naughty step!
Pixie, check your mattress size before buying sheets and think about whether new pillows & duvet are also requiredIt will be worth the wait to have better sleep in your rejuvenated bedroom.
I'm still lurking...I've picked up a few nice things recently including new foundation & lippy from Boots, a couple of midi dresses from Debenhams sale and some BNWT flat lace-up ankle boots from Ebay.
I only go into the office 1 day a week now, and am trying to refresh my outfit style without wearing jeans every day. In winter I tend to wear opaque tights & short skirts with boots but I'd like to wear casual dresses a bit more, or the long sunray pleated skirts...which I had a navy one of in 4th year at high school back in 1979-80
This week I have been trying on all my tops while at home, some have made it as far as my desk but others came straight off again! Next up are sweaters but I think I will wait til the warm spell has passed for that!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

It was good wasn't it Sugarbaby. I felt like I got into the characters very quickly for a new show. I hope it carries on being this watchable. Enjoy the pub!
Floss - I need some new makeup too as I am down to the ends of my lipsticks.
I was thinking I really could do with a day out to the cinema. It's not even a particular film I want to see, it's just the experience of being in a cinema I miss. I think the last time I went for summer last year. I would have gone more if I had known about lockdown!2025 GOALS

Welcome back maman. With regard to de-cluttering pixie I‘m afraid that I don’t have any advice as I’m a minimalist. I have very little in my home and the things that I do have are the things I love. I have a “little” office with a shredder and every time I receive junk mail it gets shredded straight away - so no paperwork to sort out. Everything that I need to keep is filed straight away. I sound like a complete control freak, don’t I? That may be so, it it’s just the way I am. 😳
chanie - well done on you charity finds. I don’t tend to shop in CS but I do buy a lot of stuff from eBay. I’ve replaced many an item that I’ve worn out of (sometimes even new with tags) and I get a huge thrill of buying it again. I’ve sold a lot of clothes and other stuff on eBay since I retired and I’ve got mixed feelings. I only sell good quality stuff and whilst the majority of the feedback has been positive I’ve had a few non-payers and people taking the mick. For example, I sold a Pandora charm (which was a gift and I didn’t particularly like as it was rose gold and I don’t collect those particular charms) and got a horrible email from the person to whom I sold it to saying that it was fake. It wasn’t fake, and she was taking the mick but I refunded the money straight away and told her to give the money to charity. I bet she didn’t, but hey ho, I would rather give something away than be ripped off. I only buy what I’ve already sourced and get huge pleasure in selling to someone who appreciates it. I donate all my OHs warm clothing to the Salvation Army who do a great job and always appreciate it.5
