Good morning lovely ladies.it's not looking very promising is It. Hey ho. We will get through another lockdown if we have to. I'd rather isolate than get sick. I tell myself I'm not "stuck at home" but rather that "I am safe at home". I am very fortunate - I don't have to go out and earn a living and I have no worries about losing my job. I do feel for people who have additional money worries through all this, it must be very stressful.I do think lockdowns might be a bit tougher for some of us to cope with this time round though, because of going into winter. Last time we were at least going into spring/summer and we were ver6 fortunate in that we had a lovely warm spring. This time we have the cold dark days of winter. Never mind..........I will just have to practice Hygge.Tbh Solitary isn't much fun but I will keep busy and stay focussed. Last time I revamped the kitchen......a huge job and I got sick of painting. This time I will have a series of smaller tasks so hopefully it will be easier to stay motivated. One of my goals will be to continue the decluttering, and hopefully sell some of it and make some cash. Whatever happens I really don't want to eat my way through another lockdown so I'm going to have to be a lot stricter with myself. 😉.Sheila.....well done on completing your challenge. That's amazing.SFT. Good job on reintroducing your pilates. It will be tough at first but it should get easier as your core muscles get stronger. That's my next one to reintroduce. I think I will probably end up with a regime that encompasses tai chi and pilates on alternate days, and some form of cardio each day, and then resistance training on alternate days. Then maybe Sunday's off. Apparently it's better not to train or exercise every single day. Well that's what most trainers or coaches seem to advocate. At any rate if we are in lockdown and the weather is bad, now that I have made a start on regular exercise and started to develop better habits at least I can continue to exercise at home. So no excuse.😁 I do need to buy some paint and diy materials so I think I will make a point of doing that tomorrow. Also do a bit of a food inventory and fill any gaps.I've got chiro later so probably won't feel like trekking round the diy sheds afterwards.Have a great day y'all.8

Well done Sheila!
My core strength is appalling. I just tried to use my trampoline and only managed 10 minutes. I then did some leg lifts and sit ups. I could only manage about 10 sit ups and I wasn't even sure I was doing them properly. Oh well, I can only improve from now on.I was thinking about getting a fitbit, although I am supposed to be saving money so maybe I will make do with what I have at the moment.
I have to jet wash the garden and then drive and paint the garden fence and my dog also has some tests at the vet this week. I might start my book before I do the jet washing today.
I'm making my way through the books I have on my kindle. I have the book 12 of the Ruth Galloway series next. I thoroughly recommend those books.

Thanks folks, tbh running around a big school all day gets loads of steps in! Yes dreading another lockdown, can you imagine queuing outside supermarkets in the snow, it will be horrendous. There's been cases in schools here, but not ours yet. Just wish it would go away.

Well the most extraordinary thing.......
i mentioned to the chiro today that for the last few weeks I had been bothered by sinus problems. I have a fair few allergies and they have been quite bad this last few weeks, hence the sinus pain. She said "let me have a good look at the bones on your face". She poked and prodded about and said. "Ah yes" she said "I can see exactly what's wrong, I am going to straighten your nose, it might feel a bit uncomfortable whilst I push it back". 😱. 😂.
Well to say I felt apprehensive is an understatement but I have known her for a long time and I trust her implicitly so I thought okaaaaay, let's do it. I felt a bit of pressure For a few seconds, nothing too drastic and then she was done. Thought no more of it. Looked in the mirror and couldn't see any real change, although the pressure on my sinuses definitely felt better, especially on the left hand side of my face. So, given that the camera often shows imperfections that the naked eye doesn't always pick up I took some selfies and lo and behold my nose Is not only straighter but the bump at the bridge which I've had for as long as I can remember Has also gone. 😁.I wasn't expecting that.......😂🤣8 -
That's really interesting LL. I fell and broke my nose a few years ago, it looks fine but it's a bit bent inside if you know what I mean and I've get a stuffed up nose alot. You've got my wondering now, I might have to get an appointment. I hate feeling I can't breathe properly through my nose, never been a mouth breather. You must feel great to get rid of the sinus trouble.
I've had a nice day out looking round the shops, didn't really buy much just a few birthday cards and something nice to eat but I enjoyed it. I did think it was sad that so many shops are closed down.
I didn't do much cupboard cleaning but I did sort the worst one out and I've cleaned the French windows, didn't really realise how many sticky little hands had been on them at the weekend. I'd never get a job as a window cleaner, it takes me so many goes to get rid of all the streaks but they look lovely now.
I've got some work on for tomorrow so there won't be much cleaning done but DH has suddenly decided to have a clearout of his wardrobe, it is so full you can't hang any more in there and everything ends up squashed. He's got things two sizes too big and two sizes too small but he intends to stay where he is and I said it would be good to go to a homeless charity as there will be men who could do with some warm clothes for the winter. So the bedroom is the priority and the kitchen spring clean can be finished next week. He can't do it by himself, he directs and I do the labour but I don't mind if we are getting rid of some "Stuff."
I've booked for the new boiler to be fitted and the gardner is coming at the beginning of next month to sort out all the overgrown bushes. Feeling like I've achieved something today.6 -
Good Mornjng lovely ladies.Well I'm so lazy this Mornjng. Had a restless night so slept till 9. Can't seem to get going yet.Still in my pjs.
It's a bit dull here and slightly chilly. So, rather than dive straight into the gardening I think I might pop into B&Q first and buy some paint and a few bits and pieces I need for some diy jobs. I did buy a pack of cheap paint brushes from Treasure Aisle yesterday in Aldi's. 😂.After yesterday's announcement of new Covid measures I think it's time I stocked up on the bits and pieces I need to finish the kitchen and for a couple of winter projects I have in mind. Just get prepared in case things escalate. So far Derby's figures are ok, but Leicester, Birmingham And Sheffield aren't doing so well so who knows. Those big conurbations are all less than 1hr radius from here so Derby could well be a sitting duck. Best get ready.😂Took advantage of the warm sunshine yesterday and washed some of my knitwear. apparently we are due a bit of a mini heatwave next week so I think I'll see what else needs refreshing.Pixie.....a timely reminder, autumn is well and truly on its way......I need to ring my plumber and book him in for my boilers annual service, also get the chimney swept, plus the car Insurance is due. Need to get my act together. The nights are really drawing in now, watched "A Streetcat called Bob" last night. Lovely film. Soon be time to get out the candles.Winter is Coming!!!6 -
I've had a productive morning, so far I've
1. Done the paid work online, started at 7 am and had a productive 3 hrs. Money in the bank.
2. Sorted out birthday present for DIL, ordered it from Amazon and they will gift wrap it. I wouldn't normally do it but it's the times we are in
3. Sorted out some online banking matters.
4. Did the first sorting out session with husband, have some things to throw away (gasp) some for charity shop and some just need putting away or maybe doing a wash and putting them away fresh.
I've also done washing up from last night, sorted out the bins as it's collection day, made breakfast and am about to start lunch. Later today my Sainsbury shop will be delivered and GS will call in after school to raid the goodies. I also need to do a prescription request for DH. I'm assuming my blood test was fine as no one has got back to me, don't know if I can face a long wait on the phone just to be told all is well.
I'm hoping we will do more sorting out but depends how husband feels, he tires easily and I also want to get out for a walk.
Tomorrow I am hoping to cut the grass in front and back gardens, carry on with sorting stuff and finish the kitchen cupboards. I will combine the cupboards with sorting out what stocks need topping up to prepare for future lockdowns or shortages and when I've worked that out I will go online and do a Sainsbury's order for next week.
Then on Saturday I'll probably collapse in a heap and recover from all the activity.
I've added moonshot to my list of words I don't want to hear.

That is interesting about the chiro appointment. I have this ongoing sinus thing still. It's better than it was but I think I am allergic to something. Maybe I should try some sessions with a chiropractor. I still have those vouchers from my husband's work that I haven't used yet!
Yesterday I couldn't do the jet washer as the attachment had a leak so I will have to wait for the replacement to be delivered. I did order a pedometer as it was quite cheap as I thought the fitbit was too expensive. It monitors your sleep too. It's meant to be here today.
It's very warm and sunny here today. I went out for a walk earlier as I had a craving for pasta and I had run out. I made myself roasted vegetable pasta for lunch. My dog is at the vet today for tests and we have to pick him up later. I want to finish my book today.2025 GOALS
