morning all. Lots of interesting stories to catch up on today! Sugarbaby you look lovely, and sound like you had a great time at the party. It's interesting to read about Partners. I don't think you need to be married to be committed to each other. My Sister and her Partner have been together just over 30 years and have never married. For me Mick was my first boyfriend at 16 and I cannot see myself with anyone else even though I am lonely.Well its started to rain here, and back to work this morning after a busy weekend.I will get plenty of steps in running around school, walking my Daughter's dog, then an evening swim. I am hoping to lose the few pounds that I gained during lockdown. It seems to sit round the middle at this age!Enjoy your day everyone5

I have been with my husband since I was 17 and can't imagine being with anyone else. I can't imagine being single either though as I had a few boyfriends before him so I haven't been single since I was 16.
I managed to book my flu jab for early October at Boots. The website wasn't working when I tried it last. I also booked a chiropodist appointment for a couple of weeks time as I think the last time I went was back in 2008! *Blush* I tried to do my feet myself but they probably could use a professional.
It is quite bright here but feels chilly to me, especially in the mornings. I put my new socks this morning to wear around the house.

savingfortomorrow said:oh candygirl- that is scary! He is trying to recreate the old life, I imagine he will make her dress like the old wife soon. The furniture being tossed out is a massive issue.

Candy. I Have met a few widowers like that. Their wives have been dead just a few months and already they are looking for a replacement. It seems so wrong on so many levels.Anyway hello lovely ladies.
miserable day here. Went to chiro this morning, then did a bit of shopping. Have been shattered this afternoon, sometimes chiro sessions just wipe me out. so just going to have an easy dinner and a lazy evening.,4 -

I saw this in Dunelm and I couldn’t resist buying it, as I love bags. I just need to thing of where to hang it.

I've had a productive start to the day as I decided to start "spring" cleaning kitchen cupboards. I'm too ashamed to say how out of date some of the stuff at the back of cupboards was. I hang my head in shame. I'm going to do it over 2 or 3 days to pace myself.
I was chatting to a neighbour and she was saying what a pain it is organising face masks. I asked her why and she said she has 7 but it is a nuisance when she does her 60 degree wash and they all go in as she can't do anything that day without a mask, I assume she has a wash day, I'm not that organised and do it when the spirit is willing and the basket is full. Anyway I said what I do, and I have 3, is at the end of the day if I've used one or two of them I fill a small bowl with a mixture of washing up liquid, bleach and nearly boiling water and let the mask/masks soak till the water cools and then rinse them under the tap and hang up and by the next morning they are dry. She looked at me like I was mad. My masks are all white and they look sparkling clean and it is so easy when making a cup of tea in the evening to just pop them in the bowl. What do you think, is she making a mountain out of a molehill or am I doing something weird without realising it?
Very pretty bag Chanie.9 -
Hi lovely ladies, I have been skim reading the thread every couple of days, but life and fatigue have prevented me posting for ages
The reason for today's visit is that I just found this thread supporting our much loved and respected maman. I will be adding my comments to it when I return from town, but thought some of you might like to do so as well.

Take care all.

Hello Ladies,
Candy girl I actually feel sorry for her, she has made a really huge mistake with her choice of partner. I hope she decides soon that she would be better off without him
Chanie it is good that you have started to buy yourself items that will bring you pleasure for your birthday. How are you feeling now that your children have gone back to school? Are you concerned or worried? How are you finding being a stay at home Mum? Are you missing being an employee? In recent months you have had a lot of changes within your household, but I am sure that you, your husband and your children are all coping with the new family dynamic.
Maddie May I have added my contribution to the Maman thread. I hope the thread results in Maman's return.
I had a blood test today at King's College Hospital and it went really smoothly.I have very small veins and they are deep set. Medical staff have a hard time getting blood from my veins, so I insist on only 3 attempts whenever I need to have a blood test and if on the 3rd attempt they are still unable to extract any blood from one of my veins, then it is just tough luck. More experienced phlebotomists are the only medical staff that can get blood from me on the 1st attempt and without causing me a lot of pain.

sugarbaby I have always had problems with blood tests and got to the point where I had to see an anaesthetist as no one else could get anything. He told me to have lots to drink for the 24 hrs leading up to the test and to keep very warm and it has really helped. Even on a hot day I wear a jumper when going for a test. Not sure if you'v tried anything like that but it might be worth a go. My worst experience was having a test where they needed arterial blood, I had one of my children with me and tried very hard to be brave so as not to terrify a toddler but in the end I was crying and the poor young doctor who was trying to get the blood was on the verge of tears as well.
I'd be no use to a vampire so that's one good thing.7
