I’m feeling a bit left out as I’ve never worked in M&S.
My weekend job was working in a DIY store and I had a great time. It made me not be scared of DIY and that’s why I have been able to tackle my decorating at home. Lessons is way more knowledgable than I am, but I know my way around a DIY store.
My stint in the DIY store has left me with an aversion to laminate flooring. It was really popular when I worked there (around the millennium) and I remember having to lug packs of it onto customer trolleys etc. So now, I refuse to have it in my home.6 -
I didn't work in M&S either chanie. I worked in BHS for my first Saturday job which felt like the poor relation. 🤣
I've not worn heels for months either savingmore. They'd have looked better with my dress when we went out for dinner but as we were using public transport and walking sandals were more practical. I remembered afterwards that I've got some patent wedges (like Kate Middleton wears when she walks on grass) so I'll dig those out and maybe wear them to the theatre. 🤔8 -
Good morning ladies.Well still no idea what’s going on with iPad access to MSE. It works perfectly for everything else. So will just have to use mobile for now.7

All is good here. Did some painting yesterday. Feeling a bit fed up. Now got thrush 🥵. Plus my nose and ears are all congested. Plus the usual neck shoulder stuff. so it’s all a bit woe is me 😂6

Anyhoo. Whinging won’t help. No one likes a Moaning Minnie. 2 lots of chiro this week plus managed to book a massage tomorrow. And I might try a bit of retail therapy. I could do with some knitwear for the transition into autumn. I’ve got plenty of winter clothes but could do with some “in between” tops or sweaters. And some decent lounging around the house/1 mile gear.6

I read something yesterday about how the clothing brands that were doing best were those that had cottoned on quickly to changed habits. Just because people are staying at home more, either working or playing safe, it doesn't mean they want to slob around in old DIY clothes. I suspect that gradually we'll see more and more smart sweatpants and jumpers and loose dresses. I'm happy in my leggings but I'd like some new long sleeved tops. I have Pima cotton ones that I still wear (ancient, from when M&S sold quality basics) which I'd like to replace. I like to wear a hoody when it's colder too but soft touch ones that ideally zip up the front. The one I have at the moment is actually loungewear. Some hoodies are just too hard and heavy to be comfortable. These look promising-

Not fabbing as such but this morning I've made a dental appointment for tomorrow. I've had one hygienist appointment back before lockdown but otherwise I've not seen a dentist this year because of cancelled appointments. One of my teeth has become progressively loose over the past few months. I don't imagine anything can be done but it would be good to discuss options. I didn't sleep too well. No idea why, I just woke up for an hour or two during the night and then made my tooth worse by thinking about it and poking at it with my tongue. I think it was resolving to phone the practice this morning that helped me nod off again! 😀7 -
I worked in Makro, it was quite good money, over £8 an hour and this was back in the mid 90s. I had to wear a hideous uniform and a stupid hat and I had to walk through the main floor to the coffee shop where I worked and loads of men who worked there would whistle at me. Gawd know why as it was not a good look!
I had an awful Irish manager and she was so annoying. She said it was an insult to the cook if you put condiments on your food. I deliberately poured ketchup on my food after she said it. Such a rebel! Lol.6 -
Pmsl at your uniform WEDNESDAY! I had a Saturday job at Index, n we had to wear royal blue skirts, peach blouses, n royal blue dicky bows😂😂I felt like an idiot , n was so embarrassed when going to n from work!"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Hello Ladies,
LL it sounds like your body is crying out for a long rest. I hope the chiro & massage bring you real beneficial relief from your current aches and pains
I was finally able to get some passport sized photographs taken on Friday in the photo booth in Morrisons in Peckham. As a consequence, I had 2 photos to go and complete my application for my 6 months half price TFL bus & tram photocard today.6
