My internet went down yesterday CG. Very annoying.
I'm trying to get everything organised for the trip away this weekend. I cannot believe how much preparation it takes to look after my three cats and two dogs with their health conditions now. God knows what it must be like to go away when you have kids.
I'm putting everything we need out on the table in one place - anti-bac wipes, hand sanitiser, masks, sunscreen, sunglasses, phone chargers, toiletries and all the medications, syringes and pet food for the vet stay.
I'm going to sort my feet out tonight, foot scraper and paint my toe nails.
I want my husband to sort out my um "Lady Garden" later too as I have some wax strips. I have bought new lingerie for this hotel stay.4 -
Just wanted to pop in and say Hi - I love reading this thread. I hate the idea of wearing the face masks it really freaks me out, but I have been making them and matching the fabrics with my clothes - I sew most of my own clothes. I now think of myself as doing a bit of fabbing when I choose which face mask goes with my outfit for the dayDebt free and Keeping on Track8

I do hope the First Communion was memorable if not what you'd originally hoped for chanie.
I'm almost afraid to say that we've had no trouble with our freezers and they're getting quite old now. Dishwasher packed up a few weeks back though. We will order a new one but DH says he's been enjoying us chatting when we wash up together!
It's fashion day in my paper again today. I realised that I don't read them any longer for things I might buy (which is the point of them surely??) but to think what do I have in my wardrobe that's currently in fashion. Today was a mixed bag- dungarees, statement skirts, brightly coloured jackets and Breton tops. I can't see me rushing out to buy dungarees. The nearest I've got is a strappy jumpsuit () which I've seen people wearing with a tee shirt underneath. I've done brightly coloured jackets but, although they can be dressed down, they remind me of how many female MPs dress, very much work wear. Statement skirts I do like, a very striking skirt worn with a plain top. I've got a few from White Stuff which I've worn a lot and I also like wearing 'evening' skirts with every day jumpers. Fortunately, the weather has been warm enough that I haven't worn long sleeves indoors for a while but Breton tops are very easy to wear and quite a classic. Apparently Boden has sold more than half a million, including 2 to me!

The breton tops are very classic and wearable. I have one in pink from a French company, breton made but not traditional. It has great warmth.
I ordered period swim suits, to allow a full month of swimming. I will let you know how that works out. I swim a lot and it's the only activity that I don't wear a mask. I wear them daily. You get used to them.

Mrs Porridge I love the idea of matching your masks with your clothes. I’m very jealous.
maman I like to think of myself as a trendsetter with dungarees as I got a pair for pregnancy 10+ years ago. I really wanted a pair as I thought it would be the only time in my adult life I would be able to wear them. Little did I know....Savings I have period knickers which are an absolute game changer. I would be interested to hear about how the swimwear equivalent works. I just can’t imagine how they would work when you are in a pool. One of life’s mysteries.
My proud moment - the first of my sun flowers is starting to open up. A few family members have told me they look awful 😂 but I don’t care. There is something satisfying about growing something so big. I have kept the bins in to give a sense of scale. Those of you who are in this thread may notice my half finished window frame on the right. I should be finished tomorrow.
My other ‘getting back to nature’ is my bird feeder, which I bought a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the wood pigeons seem to have taken it over and scared away the little birds, so I may get some smaller feeders as well. We will have last laugh once the kitten is allowed out....6 -
I love the sunflowers chanie. Don't listen to your family! They always make me smile and I'm sure they'll cheer up passers by when the see them.
I didn't really notice the painting job in progress, I was too busy trying to work out if your house was Victorian or Edwardian? We really do need a nosey smiley!
On the dungarees, I used to have a pair but not the fitted sort. Mine were like a boiler suit without sleeves IYSWM, really baggy. I preferred those. I'm assuming maternity dungarees would be baggy too. The ones in the paper were really quite skinny.

I'm going to try and make a podiatrist appointment today. I don't know if they're back working. I cut my nails once once during lockdown and have been keeping up with body scrub and some creaming but I'd like my feet done professionally. DD went to the nail shop last week and said they were doing pedicures so that's Plan B.
ETA: Made an appointment for Monday!6 -
maman our house was built in 1905, so technically it is the Edwardian era, but it is Victorian style. I’ll post a picture (once the sunflowers have gone).
You have reminded me to book a pedicure for me and DD next week, as I have a groupon.

Hello Lovely Ladies.I love sunflowers too. Agree with Maman, ignore your family. They know nothing. 😂.
My sister used to grow them. They were monsters. For several years she would send a photo to the local newspaper with her small daughter Next to them to show the scale. Daughter is now 20 and far too important and grown up to have her picture taken with some silly flowers. 😅😂. Glad the confirmation went well, even if it was a bit more subdued than Previously.Dungarees and boiler suits. Loved them And lived in them back in the day. I wore a boiler suit the first time I met my husband. (Flat shoes, not a scrap of make up or jewellery). He was quite bemused .......for years he told everyone who would listen about how I was dressed when we first met. It would seem you can still exude sex appeal and attract a mate wearing something as plain and boring as a boiler suit. 😉. Couldn't get away with being so understated now.....Speaking of 80s fashions. Went into Primark and there on the hangers were dresses with Puff Ball Skirts!!! I didn't wear them jn the 80s so I think I'll pass this time round. 😂
I had my hair cut this morning. Look 10 years younger. 😁. Had a nice mooch round the shops, coffee sitting outside in the sun. Felt like old times.7 -
