Interestingly when I was in Home Bargains, they had that Tiger Balm. I've never used it myself but I'm sure someone on here did. It's one of those shops that you have to look around and pick out the bargains from the tat. They have good prices on many basic toiletries and also some food items. The Home stuff is variable but there are bargains to be found. They had some very nice white bone china pasta dishes but I have some so they stayed where they were.
    Large Moroccan Shopping Basket - Shoulder handles - W58 D20 H34 Cm
There was a basket/beach bag very much like this too but decorated with coloured pom poms although I'm sure they could be removed.

My hair is an absolute fright today. It's very dry so I'm not going to wash it but tomorrow I'll put a deep conditioner on and see if that helps.

It's bright and dry here and about 18 degrees. I think it would do me good to get out for a bit of a walk. I'm coping OK with lockdown but I'm finding that instead of seeing it as an opportunity to get things done I'm just thinking  there's no urgency for anything. We should have been going away on 10th for three weeks in the sun so maybe that's why I'm finding it hard yo motivate myself.

I will tell you if I go Chanie. Even going on a shopping trip to Romford sounds exciting to me at the moment as I'm so bored, lol.

I just did a hair treatment and had a hot shower. I'm wearing a deep pink blouse over my maxi dress today as I'm not sure I like it so I thought I should wear it a few times before I may donate it to a chazzer. When they reopen. It sounds like the 15th of June?

I cannot wait to get my hair cut next month. It is really bugging me!

    Hello Ladies,
My younger son came with his washing on Thursday afternoon and he stayed for a visit with us. I had not seen him for 10 days, so once again it was lovely family time with him.

I played a general knowledge quiz with my son and daughter and I won, beating my daughter by only one point. :D  I had not expected to win, but it was a nice surprise to find that I had, not that I did that well mind you, as my winning score was only 9/30. :D

My daughter has been given notice by her employers, so her contract will end on 30th June 2020. She has taken up her employers offer of a zero hours contract, which will continue her length of service with them, but she may never get called in to work for a long time, as they have not reopened yet. Preparations are being made, but she does not know when they will finally be complete. This means, that effectively she has to take the 5 days of annual leave owing to her from 15th June, then  after that period, she will be working out her notice period. None of this was unexpected by either my daughter or myself, so it has not come as a surprise to either of us. My daughter is thankfully, an avid saver like me, so we will just have to manage in the future without her monthly salary if she is not given any hours with her zero hours contract. Technically she has to be available for work for her employers until 30th June 2020, but they have advised her that she remains on furlough as they have no work for her to undertake at this given time.

I have more or less recovered from the effects of Covid-19 but I continue to struggle with fatigue, memory and recall of facts I definitely know. My life has moved on and I am living my life within the confines of lockdown and still enjoying my life. I have never had time to feel bored since lockdown started, I have been reading books at a much faster rate and I have discovered so many TV programmes that would never have come to my attention, if I had not had so much leisure time at home. I am able to do all of the household tasks including cooking and cleaning on my own now without needing assistance from my daughter.

sugar sorry to hear about your daughters job.  Sadly, many people will be in this situation (including me).

I went to Home Bargains this morning and spent a fortune.  I stocked up on cleaning products, presents and some snacks for the children.  Funnily enough, I saw the bag maman posted and was probably looking at it in store exactly as Maman was posting (I was at the store for it’s 11am opening). I did quite like the bag with the Pom-poms, but as much as I love bags, i don’t think it would get much opportunity to use it.

When I got back from shopping, I had to sort out some storage space for my cleaning product stash.   I have stored them on top of the kitchen wall units, which isn’t ideal, but at least I can easily see what I have.

One of my bargains from Home Bargains.  This hand gel is 70% alcohol and was 99p.  I bought a couple for the children.  The Body Shop gel is  £2.50.

Helen/LL This opening sentence of yours
"Totally with you Wednesday and Maman.  I have absolutely had enough now.  I started out well, catching up with outstanding jobs, painting my kitchen etc but now I seem to have lost all momentum.  I'm not depressed but I am a bit low and feel lethargic. There's plenty I could be doing but I just can't summon up any enthusiasm.  Definitely lost my mojo"  absolutely describes how I feel (no kitchen painting though).  I am not unhappy, not depressed, loving my garden and enjoying cooking new recipes and experimenting with GF baking, but nothing else really gives me joy (OH and dear dog excepted).  Not reading very much, not knitting, not been wearing makeup.  Trouble is I will not be advised to change anything with regard to shielding for ages, at some time I will need to risk assess things, worried that the lack of social distancing  will send the "R" soaring again.  Just have to keep plodding on.
Sugarbaby - sorry to read about your daughter's work situation.
Wednesday - my hair is driving me mad, I have trimmed fringe a few times, but the sides are too long but not long enough to push behind my ears, I might have to dig out a few old kirby grips.
Maman - horrid at missing holiday for you, we are pinning our hopes on being able to do our month long Scotland jaunt next Spring.
Chanie - I am pleased that your timing netted you some bargains.

must be end of week 11 beginning of week 12 cabin fever.  i have been doing well, but lost it thursday and friday felt quite low friday.   don’t want to go back to what wasn’t normal but can’t stay liked this.   getting so tired of watching others break regulations when we are sticking to it.  think that has a lot of do with it.   the weather doesn’t help of course!  but this too will end......

That's quite spooky chanie. 😁 I thought the basket was very nice and good value but I really didn't need it. Baskets look smart but they can snag on your clothes so not very practical and sadly I don't have any use for a beach bag this year. ☹️
