it isn’t sore, it’s the colour of the product. A friend said she calls it the vampire mask.
I have gotten around the queuing, by buying from eBay. There are always lots of little bits and bobs that we need around the house and eBay is really convenient and cheap.
My local also has ‘traffic lights’ on its entrance, which I thought was clever. Psychologically, it feels like ‘learning to live’ with coronavirus as opposed to having a staff member in a mask throwing hand signals at you.I too am using eBay and Amazon a lot more. I bought a pack of tea towels last week. Good value. I am going to order a new kettle and a water filter today. Saves the hassle of queuing at Sainsburys or Asda.5 -
Clippy girl I never think of New Zealand as being cold. Am pleased that NZ has managed the coronavirus well. I guess that is a big advantage of being in quite a remote part of the world, I would imagine.
helen your awning looks lovely and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun.
it looks looks the weather is turning. OH noticed it this morning and so I had a quick dash to put away some things we had left in the garden, like the BBQ and some toys.
my local McDonalds drive-through has reopened so I may take the children. I managed to take them the day they closed and told them to enjoy it as they wouldnt be getting it for a while.

I am starting healthy eating again today. I have lost weight during lockdown but I want to try and focus on my health more. I had two toasted pitta bread stuffed with spinach and tomatoes for breakfast and I will make a cherry and banana smoothie when I get hungry. I am thinking of making colcannon for lunch. It will give me something to focus on as I'm still not going out hardly at all. I'm still avoiding London public transport as I can easily do so.
I moved around my living room yesterday. I am mentally deciding what things I need to get rid of before we move house. I want to get back to having a vase of fresh flowers in the room after this as the local shops and the supermarkets don't seem to have them at the moment.
I have my CBT phone session this morning. I am about to have a bath and then put on a clean nightshirt afterwards as I have nowhere to go today.I did put on makeup already after I cleaned and moisturised my face this morning.

Omg CHANIE thank god it's not as sore as it looks 😯😯😯
LL love the awning, very posh .I've also been keeping Amazon in business during lock down. Every time I see a good deal, I order it.Yesterday's haul was 6 X Douwe Egberts coffee for £14 delivered. It's one of my faves, n I use the jars as storage too
I'm not even thinking about Winter yet, too depressing for me 😁"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

The awning looks really smart LL. Glad you're pleased with it.
Thank goodness it was just the colour that made the mask look horrific chanie. Are you pleased with the result on your skin?
Do you have an Aldi anywhere near you Wednesday? I find them very good for cut flowers. They have a good range at good prices. My DD1 bought me a 3 month subscriptions to 'Letterbox' flowers for my birthday in March and I've just thrown out the last bunch. I've enjoyed having fresh flowers in the sitting room so I'll be treating myself to more when I do my food shop on Friday. I know you often do that too LL.
Good savings this month and ongoing LL. I need to phone Denplan. We have a family subscription which includes DD1 so our bill is pro rata quite expensive. I wanted to ask if there'd be any reduction considering there hasn't been any cover for 3 months. The practice plans to open up in a couple of weeks but appointments have been missed, they'll have a backlog to work through and in any event there's an insurance element that they haven't been able to provide. Fortunately we haven't needed to resort to any DIY dentistry though!
DH went out this morning to collect an antiquarian map that he'd bought from an auction house. It's about a 100 mile round trip so it gave me a couple of hours to myself which is something I haven't had since lockdown. Although we get on really well, it's been unusual being together almost 24/7. Fortunately, our house is big enough for us to have our own space.
I took advantage to have a decent pampering session. I used the John Freida lightening spray and blonde shampoo and conditioner to help preserve my highlights. My hair is still looking good although another DIY fringe trim will be needed soon. I really don't get through toiletries that quickly but I have bought a Nivea face wash and eye cream (saw them recommended in a magazine) as I'm going to run out of both quite soon. Normally I'd replace with Clinique at duty free but as I'm not likely to be in an airport for a while I'm trying these.
It's much cooler and overcast here. We had some light rain overnight but not much. Much though I really love the sun it is more comfortable today.

ClippyGirl - I lived in NZ for 5 years, and I remember the cold, damp winters well! I was in Auckland, whereabouts are you? There was a really good website and forum I called simplesavings.co.nz, a bit it like the Kiwi version of this one but I'm not sure if it still exists? The main tips I remember were putting fleeces between the mattress and the sheet so there was warmth coming from below as well as above, also putting bubble wrap on the windows to stop draughts. Also wearing lots of merino wool layers and a hat at all times! Our house had a heat pump in the living room so it wasn't too bad (as long as you sat directly under it!) and other rooms just had oil filled radiators. I remember complaining frequently that I could afford to pay for heat, if only there was a system that would actually generate it! I was so excited to get central heating when I came back to the UK.4

LL love the awning- very stylish. I
I am shattered today- really tired and my feet are swollen. it is hard on the feet any amount of heat. It feels like some one removed the duracell battery fom me.
I purchased only 2 items needed to day and paid some bills. i use ebay a lot but I put a budget of 50 euro on a revolute card and I can shop using that. I try and get designer brands as they was better. I am very snobby on ebay and choose high end brands. It allows me to know what size I am in this or that brand. I can reduce too many mistakes, but if it is ok 80% of the time that is acceptable for sizing. I prefer ebay and second hand because things get a second use. Given the tooing and goings to return items i would prefer to purchase second hand.
I am trying to reduce the amazon purchases as the poor post man is under pressure. I try and help somehow.

I think you're right to go for quality brands on eBay sft. I think that's part of the problem with some of the chazzas. You see them trying to sell second hand items from Primark or the like which cost as much as they did new! My DD1 has some really lovely handbags from eBay. With quality ones, I don't think it matters if they're well worn.
Today we had a shortish walk (7000+ steps) through the city centre. We're only been there once before since mid March so it made a nice change. We walked down to the waterfront and I had a coffee!!!There was a small Starbucks open next to the IoW ferry. It felt to 'normal'. What made us smile was that when DH ordered it , they insisted on writing his name on the cup although he was the only customer!
It's been dull and overcast here today but dry. I needed a jacket for our walk but was nice enough to sit outside with my coffee!
