Over half way through the month now and things are looking ok. I've had a few wee niggly health things but hoping I've turned a corner.
I'm off this week and I'm so very much looking forward to it. Got a few things planned and budgeted for. Most of all I'm looking forward to having a rest.
The only financial thing on the horizon is £137 due back to me from the old power supplier. Remember the £100 I loaned them? That, plus the difference between the last monthly payment and the final bill amount. I think that should arrive on the next dd date but I might message them to check.

Enjoy your week off! Hope the feeling better continues, and you can enjoy some R&R, as well as your plans. Exciting that you'll be getting back your "loan" too - that feels like aaaaages ago that happened, although I'm sure it wasn't that long ago. Time has lost all meaning, I still can't quite believe we're in the middle of July

I received a £0 final bill from the power supplier yesterday and the refund hit my account about half an hour ago. I have transferred £100 to the EF (which is where it would have gone had I not loaned it to them in the first place). The other £37 I have put aside as I bought my sis an afternoon tea voucher in another city for her birthday so it will cover train fares (a birthday treat, I usually get the bus or drive). Planning that for August so something to look forward to.
Today is the final week day of my holiday. I have done nothing all morning. I need to do my morning dishes and get organised soon as I'm meeting bf when he finishes work (back of 4).
It's been a really enjoyable week and I've spent a lot of time with my sis.
LMG and I have been redecorating the hall for months now and had to stop while I was a bit under the weather. We started again on Wednesday but it's so warm here that we managed an hour and had to stop again. We'll get back on it when it cools down again. I've told her the goal is to have it completed before this Christmas. She agrees.
I'm still waiting to hear about my mortgage product transfer. Just hoping the advisor gets it sorted before he goes on holiday this weekend.
I'm feeling quite relaxed at the moment and not stressed about anything. It feels good and I hope it continues for a long time.

The various accounts have been topped back up and I've managed to send another £600 to the EF. That takes it to £1,940. Just another £560 and I will have hit my target. That's easily doable in next month's wage. I definitely have two months left at the higher salary so I'll hit target next month then I'll put away the spare in September too. I feel like I've made a pretty good effort with that.I've not heard anything yet about them employing someone for the higher grade that I am covering. By my calculations they will need to be interviewing soon if that's what they want to do. If I don't hear anything by mid-August I'll ask. Mid-August will give them 6 weeks to advertise, interview and employ someone on the basis that the person only needs to give one month's notice at their current employment. Our roles are such that we're very close to the line of having to give 3 month's notice (I have had to previously). I have decided that if they ask me to cover a bit longer then I will. If not, I'm happy to go back to part time. I'll miss the extra cash but it will be nice having my afternoons back. This just came at a really good time to get the debt cleared and the EF built back up.
Still waiting for my mortgage advisor to complete the transfer. I have now signed the bank declaration and I've seen a message from them saying that it's too late to change the dd amount so any overpayment can be left as an overpayment or I can call them and ask for it back. I planned to make an overpayment anyway this month so no issues there, just slightly annoying that I contacted the MA 5 weeks ago on purpose so that there was plenty of time to sort this out. He even said there was plenty of time, yet here we are with the last day of my old deal tomorrow and he's just sending them the final paperwork. The only area of my life where I need to be in control is my finances and having to rely on someone else to do their bit is so hard.
I'm all set for tackling the mortgage next. Even if I do go back to part time I will still have enough to make small overpayments. I had a quick look at my diary from when I paid off the £20k loan on the HA share of my flat and it reminded me how well I can do when I put my mind to it.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

You’re doing so well! None of this ‘when I put my mind to it’, you’ve been doing brilliantly for a long time. I wish I had your motivation to start on the mortgage next, I’m making some fixed monthly overpayments but can’t quite face starting on it properly yet.Debt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

Aww thanks @astrocytic_kitten. I guess I forget what I have done when I stop doing it.
I CANNOT WAIT to start focusing solely on paying off the mortgage. I have paid off some in the past 13 years (about £10k-£11k) alongside paying off consumer debt, etc, but I couldn't really make it a priority. I am absolutely itching to get started. It's a struggle to not put the excess wages to it instead of to the EF 🙈 (I won't). I can see it on my internet banking and I'm desperate to see the balance starting to properly come down. I don't know for definite what the new rate is, I just have a rough idea and know it is less than my current rate so my plan, since I found out it was less, was to start the extra payments asap.
Remember, my mortgage is interest only so I'm not paying off any capital in my monthly payment.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
Mortgage today = £161,690.76

If you're on an interest only mortgage anything you overpay should be coming off the capital. It certainly did on our mortgage. We didn't manage to pay off all the mortgage with our overpayments but certainly enough that we had some of the endowment left over at the end of it.
