I've been a bit spendy this month so far and I need to stop now. We're more than half way through the food budget and there's not a lot left in my allowance.
I didn't buy underwear, I bought two sun loungers instead 😆 I really wanted them last year but couldn't afford them. I can manage without new undergarments for another month or so, probably a lot longer as I'm lazy and comfortable. Love the loungers and got them for a decent price.
I bought jammies and a couple of toys for my niece. That was a bit of an expensive day.
I am in the process of changing energy suppliers as the last bill came in at £70.39 with readings that I provided. We live in a 2 bedroom flat. There was no heating on at any point during the month. We go to bed when it's still light outside so no lights on. I use the computer all day, we use the tv in the evening, gas hob and usual white goods. I've never had a bill that high in summer months before. The tariff is cheaper for both fuel and standing charge than the old supplier. So, first dd with new supplier was £75. I want to stay on top of it. I'll get some money back from the old supplier once the switch is complete so not all bad.
LMG has been working a lot of evenings and only home for tea two nights a week at the moment so goodness only knows what I've spent the grocery budget on. Anyway, it's fine, we have enough money.
I'm trying not to wish the months away to paydays and I've felt much more relaxed this month, so far. Probably where the spending hiccup has come from. I was thinking about payday all the time and it was consuming me. I'm just trying to take each day as it comes.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I've only had the chance to use my lounger once so far but I really do love it.
Bank card has been used way more than once 😳
We took my Dad out for dinner last night so I paid half of that (with my sis) from slush fund. We bought him a small gift too but I paid for that from my occasions budget.
Sis's birthday on Wednesday and thank goodness I have the occasions budget as the slush fund only has £4 left in it this week. I've bought her present which is within budget but will need to pay bus fares (bought her an afternoon tea) although they can come from replenished slush fund at the time. We're having brunch on Wednesday morning which I know I'm short for but I'll take it from Friday's replenishment.
I have really enjoyed seeing @savingholmes pictures on her diary. I am still trying to let the month happen and doing ok with that but I could do with some proper relaxation and mindfulness.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
