quite hi tech kinda guy, but i dont use Gpay. (s10+ user).
in fact i still prefer cash, i have only used my card (chip pin or contactless) about a dozen times last year!
and im in the target age group where i seem to be in the minority not using these lol (30s).
those that say fumbling with a card / wallet, there are many quick access wallets out there. (i am like a woman with handbags, when it comes to wallets lol). and how many times are you really front of queue? usually theres at least 1 person in front of you, so you have 2s to get a card ready surely?0 -

you'd think it was easy, but we have all been behind someone in a queue that seems surprised when they get too the front and then start looking for their payment.:rotfl:Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

I use google pay all the time as it's convenient but there are two other benefits.
It's more secure as when you use it the retailer doesn't get your actual card details, they get a virtual account number. Also with the new security rules, with my bank at least, you have to enter your pin every 5 times you use contactless and that's not in one day, 5 times over any time period! So every so often your card will get declined and you have to put the card in and use the pin. This rule doesn't apply to google pay or apple pay.0 -
Apple pay (or alternative) is great and it's a thousand times more secure than a card. Someone steals your card, they can use it. Someone steals your phone, they're going to need to cut off your thumb and steal that too, if they want to spend any money.
I personally do not use it because I don't like having money on my person all the time, because i just spend more and sometimes find it difficult to resist spending money, if my card is on me. It's easy to leave a wallet at home, not so easy to leave my phone at home.0 -

Do not worry it will come in as banks will be forced to decline after so many transactions.:rotfl:
Very unlikely. The reason they do the security checks every so often is because of the lack of cardholder verification if you're just waving a card. Apple and Google Pay require either a passcode, fingerprint recognition, face recognition or you physically wearing a trusted device that only unlocks with a passcode (e.g. Apple Watch). This is also why you can spend up to an unlimited amount with either (e.g. I once bought an Apple Watch with an Apple Watch.)urs sinserly,

This thread has been very informative and reassuring. I've been wary of using banking apps, but card details into the iPhone wallet sounds good.0

It's especially safe since when a card is added to Apple Pay, the original card details cannot be retrieved. The card number used for Apple Pay purchases is a unique one to that device and card combination, not the number on the front of the card. Google Pay works the same way.urs sinserly,
