I'm lucky in that where I live now there are quite a few people who work from home, so most people get it. However, those that don't seem most put out when they knock on the door and you don't answer despite the fact that they can see you there. Or if you don't answer the phone when they know you're in... Going out into the garden for a break, or god forbid WORKING in the garden seems to be an open invitation for them to try to talk to you... I really do need some of my plants to hurry up and grown to improve the screening. And to finish the house so I can get some hard landscaping done and move the drive so I can cut it off from the garden.5

That sounds just like me - your home should be your castle and you should be able to pull up your metaphorical drawbridge if you want to!!! If you don't want to be disturbed when you are in your own home then that should be fine! I like to draw the curtains and shut everyone out when I get home, so I'm a bit disappointed with these light evenings at the moment 😂! I would probably be better out in the middle of nowhere with no-one around instead of a block of flats, but then BF lives on the edge of a village and I get really paranoid about security when I'm there alone and keep myself locked in and jump at every noise, so that's no good either 😡Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I'd like to be in the middle of nowhere too. I grew up there, and it was lovely. However, apparently it would only make my unsociable tendencies worse... Next house needs more space all round (god only knows how I'd manage - I can barely keep on top of this garden!), a bit more character, open plan kitchen/living/dining, a boot room as well as a utility (with a downstairs shower room), a nice office (mine is a small, cold room with a west-facing window and north wall). I also want east and south facing windows in the bedroom rather than west, and a 'master suite' with a dressing room as well as an ensuite to my bedroom. Not that fussed about the spare bedrooms and bathroom - just enough room for spare beds and guests.
I think I might have to build my own...5 -

WAGE SLIP DAY 😦😦😦
NOT as exciting as it used to be 😦 Yes, I'm not spending anything on petrol, or "living", but I used to claim back a good chunk of the petrol every month, so with the pay cut as well there's no getting away from the fact that I'm a few hundred down every month despite doing just as much work (actually, it feels like more, as I am solidly on it all day whereas I would normally be in the car going to/from meetings for chunks of the week). I know I could be a lot worse off, but I'm just feeling sorry for myself that my plans are being slowed down. I need to concentrate on the fact that I haven't been forced to stop them altogether....
I've set up a transfer to the credit card for 1/8 of the outstanding balance (slight change of plan - sorry 😂 - is to clear it in equal instalments by the end of the year). I think there will be a bit left over, so I need to check the figures against my maths once the money has actually gone in and the transfers to the pots and card have gone out and decide what to do with it. The options are:
1. Credit card (thus reducing remaining instalments)
2. Credit card + ISA
3. ISA
None of them seem particularly thrilling, but as the casino is closed it looks like it will definitely be one of the above 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
