Do you think your discomfort with these clothes is about the sizing.  If you buy a size in one make it SHOULD be the same size in another make, but isn't.  In fact now they don't even seem to be the same size in the same make.  I used to buy most "going out" stuff from Principles as they fitted perfectly but after they went I couldn't find anything I liked for a few years.  I have now found a couple of makes that do actually seem to follow through on the sizing, but they only seem to sell online or at factory shop type places.  I won't buy online as I know I probably won't return things.

No, sadly it's entirely down to the fact that they don't cost very much money 🤦‍♀️! Because I know they didn't cost very much, I feel like everyone can tell they didn't cost very much - which of course is complete rubbish and I know that! I doubt very much that anyone is even taking any notice of what I'm wearing anyway, but it really affects how I feel wearing them and I just feel self-conscious and not very confident. And I know that's what it is, as I feel the same way when I buy second-hand clothes that are the same brands that I would normally buy new. I said it was ridiculous!

On the plus side, I do wear my clothes to death and it's not unusual for something to last me in excess of 7 years (and as I don't have very many clothes in total, that's a lot of wears!)

  • Would it help when buying second hand to buy more expensive brands, so even though you bought the item at a bargain price it is of a higher quality?

No issue with buying things on sale though - they are bargains, rather than cheap 😀

They've bought up loads of brands from the high street when they've collapsed: Warehouse, Oasis, Karen Millen, Coast, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis.... I've got a feeling they took on some of the "Designers at Debenhams" as well. So this time I ordered from the Dorothy Perkins website, but it's Boohoo in the background doing the admin

Ah ok.. you can tell I don’t shop the high street anymore! Makes me wonder if there are any clothes shops still there?!

We've still got Primark (of course), Select, River Island (I think) and an expensive department store that I'm at least 20-30 years too young for and an out of town Next and M&S, but that's it I think! Even New Look and H&M have gone 🤦‍♀️!

Well, so much for getting an extra hour in bed - it just meant I woke up at 4.30am instead of 5.30am 🤦‍♀️ It's blowing a gale here again so no chance of getting back to sleep, so let's do the monthly round-up!

    Free money....

This month's target was £69.27 and the results are:
    £0.23 bank account cashback
    £0.25 bank account interest
    £1.85 TopCashBack
    £2.00 Storewards
    £5.00 Online forum about savings
    £10.00 cashed-in Nectar points
    £10.00 i-Say
    £10.00 Consumer Pulse
    £17.28 Prolific
    £25.00 One Poll
£30.00 Shop & Scan (with grateful thanks to Food Diary 👍)

    Total = £111.61

    Pleased with that!

November's target = £48.11. Love how it's dropping away now we're getting to the end of the year 😀!
