I must admit- I did consider pretending to be your boss - but given I've been on the site 12 years it would seem a little unlikely... the real dangerous ones are the lurkers who read but don't comment

This morning I have been Outside (I would not normally express this with a capital letter, but today it feels significant enough to become a temporary proper noun). It was weird. Having not been Outside for so long, I had lost touch with the reality of what Outside is like and had naively planned on visiting 3 different supermarkets so I could get a few non-essentials and all at the best price. This was quickly scotched by the 30+ minute queue to get inside Asda (at least I had started towards the lower end of the price spectrum). It reminded me of footage from the Soviet Union of women queuing all day to get a loaf of bread, except fortunately the weather was better. I managed to get most of the things I needed, albeit with a few substitutions. So I did my shopping, did the-thing-I-told-my-boss-I-was-going-to-do, and was very relieved to scamper back into the sanctuary of Inside. Shan't be going back Outside again for a while and am genuinely very glad about that.Anyone else got George Michael in their head right now? Yep, me too. Sorry 😀!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
