That's a good shout about closing it, might give that a go. You're totally right on the extended hours as well - except our lot are just talking a load of rubbish rather than working. Messages were pinging on the What's App last night, but I made a conscious effort not to read them past 5.00pm - have just caught up and I really didn't miss anything. I'm not normally in contact with my colleagues outside of working hours, so I don't see why now should be any different? The feeling seems to be that keeping in contact will be good for our mental health, but it's having entirely the opposite effect on me!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It's all an interesting slant on the usual office posturing where people will send out emails (usually to the whole business) either first thing, last thing or at the weekend because they're just SO busy they need everyone to know about it. If I do a bit of work at the weekends I always keep my emails in draft and hit send on the lot first thing on Monday morning so I can keep it on the QT - sure some people must smell a rat when they get 5 emails from me all at 8.31am though 😂!
Keeping it real in these trying times: 26p interest earned 😂 Savings for OP now £119.31Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

@South_coast - dropping a whole lot of emails on everyone first thing on Monday morning is also a good way of keeping everyone quiet for a few hours
I love all your stories - I may be stealing them (tweaked a bit) for some stuff I'm doing for work on homeworking/future of work. I'm a full time homeworker and have been for about 15 years - although I've spent more time in offices in the last couple of years. It's interesting to see how people are/are not adapting.

Whatsapp is the bane of my working life. Steadily I have been added to so many groups and the alerts are so annoying. I very rarely post in any of the groups and when I went back to work in January I took the step of muting all notifications so that I am in control of when I have to read any of it. twice a day and thats my limit! And I've been discplined with i hasten to add!
Keep that vodka going!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......5 -
Thanks SJ, glad it's not just me that finds it intrusive. I've got all the notifications turned off as far as I can see, but can't seem to stop it scrolling across my screen when I've got my phone in my hand for something else (like retro calling/texting people, or reading MFW 😀). Today has been MUCH better thank goodness, although I can still see it scrolling out of the corner of my eye now....😦
Vodka being well-utilised, although tonight is red wine 😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Sainsbury's appear to have withdrawn all their offers from the Nectar app. The only one I've had available for the last 3 weeks has been a triple points on one shop. I guess they don't want complaints that people have selected the offers and not been able to buy the items, but it would have been nice if they'd said. I was doing really well out of that (back in the good ole "going outside" days) and there were some items they were paying me back more in points for buying than the purchase price was, so they were going straight in the charity donation bin on the way out of the shop - so they're missing out too 😦
Oh well, first-world problems and all that. Just regretting cashing in £17.50 of points to stock up on tights when a few days later I stopped having to wear them as I'm not going into the office. In the circs, I would much rather have had a free bottle of sloe gin 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
