I had the alarming realisation last night that I spend more on petrol each month than I do on food - a LOT more 😮 And in fact I have done for years. Of course, I always knew this, but didn't really know it (if that makes sense) so it shocked me a bit to discover that my car eats better than I do 😮😮😮!
Not much I can do about it, unless I a) start spending a lot more on food (this seems counter-productive); or b) start spending a lot less on petrol (in fact, I spend less now than I have done for many years due to continued part-time home working). So it would appear I am where I am, and I'll just try to push it out of my mind again 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I also realised that my top-up shops at Sainsbury's cost me more each month than my main shops at Lidl do 😱 Now this I might be able to do something about!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I don't think there's much we can do about the petrol expenditure. It just keeps going up and up!
How are you going to deal with the Sainsbury's top ups?3 -
Ideally eliminate them altogether! I'm going to try making my own pizza dough and if that's a success I can't think of anything else I go there specifically for - oh just remembered veg gravy granules (but I can get those from Asda instead). If I'm not going to get so many Nectar points then hopefully there won't be as much reason to go there 🤞Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Well done on getting the bonus nectar points on the fruit and veg challenge. I have a inbox rule for the nectar canvass emails so they just go to a folder that gets auto deleted every 30 days so that may be an option? Funnily enough the best pizza dough recipe I've found is a Sainsbury's one but I halve the recipe for DH and I and we get our own largish individual pizzas out of it. Or you could make the entire batch and put half in the freezer.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20175

I'll give that one a try too then - I'm sure I can eat multiple pizzas until I find the right dough for me 😀😀😀! I like the idea of freezing extras, but as Friday night is pizza night and I'm usually at BF's then if I'm in the office it would need to come out of the freezer at mine on Thursday night (or Friday morning if I'm being super-organised - so probably Thursday night 🤣) then sit in my car all day Friday and then be cooked. Not sure it would cope with that 🤔? That's actually my major sticking point 🙁Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Oh, and the fact I gave my rolling pin away a few years ago 🤦♀️! And don't suggest a wine bottle, I don't want it in the house!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
