May payday sounds like the perfect time to become mortgage free, you can enjoy the glory of being MF while basking in the sun.4

Yes, and a BH weekend too 😀 BF might wonder why I am wanting to pop corks though - planning on not telling him straight away, so the next time he moans about my flat not being done I can casually drop into conversation that I've got £XXXX saved towards it.... That's if I can contain my excitement at the time though!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

You're so close SC! I do similar things with DH - withhold good news from him so I can celebrate twice!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20175

Glad I'm not the only one then! BF still doesn't "get it", so will be totally underwhelmed. My sister and her husband are just about to massively extend their mortgage, so I can't tell them as they will just be envious, so that just leaves my Mum and stepdad in real life. We shall just have to celebrate on here on the QT 🥳
Meanwhile, back in the more mundane world, stupid customers and their utter ridiculousness have driven me to drink tonight. Am finishing up what I've got in the house (fortunately not very much) so at least they can't derail my efforts tomorrow as well 🙄Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
