Counting the clothes an investment you've had a great March.
I'm trying to work out how many years of shoes I'd get for £600...
If it's not adding up, compound it!

Your free money haul is impressive SC.
£600 on shoes, one pair of shoes??? :open_mouth: This past year, in true frugal fashion, I decided that I did not need new work shoes (the old ones sprang a leak), because even on the odd occasion that I do physically go to work, almost no one else is there and sees me. I've been wearing work trousers and trainers!!

Now I'm even more shocked to find out it was a man (sexist, moi?) I also have walking boots, but I've had them since I was 14 and I didn't buy them (my Mum and stepdad had just got together and I had a hiking thing I was about to start training for, so he splashed out on a load of walking gear as a Christmas present to impress her and show what a good catch he was - it worked, they're still together 👍) Actually they're probably too big now, as my feet have shrunk quite a bit 🙁 I'm loving the idea of WFH clothes, I'm lucky if I manage underwear 🤣 My scruffy clothes from BF's have now been recycled to mine, displacing some even scruffier pyjama bottoms, so win-win really and I reckon the postie will be happy when I answer the door without my belly hanging out, too 😀!

That could be it, Ed, just seems a strange thing to focus in on as the name of your personal finance vlog 🤷‍♀️? Plus, I tried watching another video last night (I'm definitely settled now that I'm a reader, not a watcher) and she didn't pronounce it how I thought it would be....

Nope, I'm not doing it 🤣! I'm fact I'm already thinking I won't set a target for 2022 and how nice that will be!!!

Anyway, mortgage stuff! Payday today and money shuffled across. I've now repaid all of the amount I borrowed, so am on to paying the 2x arrangement fees (AKA money for old rope), the ERC's and of course the dreaded interest. I know that's not really how it works, but it makes me feel chirpier to think of it that way 😀! Now I can really see that the sooner I finish the less the cost of the borrowing will be - as if I needed any encouragement 🤣!
Excellent news, and an interesting way of thinking of it! I'd never thought to split ours out like that. Although we're still years off anyway so maybe I won't start counting in more detail until we're closer!

Thanks Cheery 😀 I dug out the original illustration the other day and it said I would pay back £100k. Looking forward to seeing what the final figure ends up being!
