Great progress this year SC and love your goals for 2021. Re recipes/less processed stuff can I recommend the Riverford website for recipes - loads of delicious veggie ones and no processed meat subs in sight. We’ve definitely eaten more interesting and less quorn based meals as a result this year. And you can still use your Lidl veg with them! 😁
But, as a word of caution, make sure you’re getting enough protein each day. I’ve been using my fitness pal for the last month and have really noticed that I don’t get enough protein (even with a hard boiled egg or two every day). So more lentils/pulses/quinoa required here. You may have this sussed of course, but it’s been an eye opener for me.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ooh, morning all 😀 Nice to see lots of lovely visitors, and thanks for the A+'s! Greent, you deserve a medal for ploughing through all of that in one go, I wonder how many times you were shouting/despairing while reading it 🤔! I'm OK with the NI for this year Grogged, as the Jobseeker's Allowance credited me for the time I was claiming and I've obviously been paying it again since I've been back working, it's just the actual paying into a pension and getting the employer match I'm missing. I'm going to chase up my current employer if there's no mention of it by the end of Jan, as I'll have been there for 3 months by then.
It's definitely the protein that needs thinking about Vix, I'm fine with eating loads of veg and I probably eat too many carbs, but protein is the tricky one - someone as hungry as me cannot survive on pulses alone! Will take a look at the Riverford website, thanks for the tip. I've also got a recipe book I ordered a month or so ago that I'm going to sit down and have a proper read through today, as opposed to just flicking through it (which is evidently all the previous owner did as well, as every page - including both covers - has a great big crease down the middle 🙄!)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I know "clean" is a bit of a fad, but I need inspiration about real food! I've done well at cutting out a lot of the meat-free stuff, but that's meant a lot of lentil lasagnes and veg-in-the-holes lately and not much variety.
In the meantime, I've just had to order a new nutribullet as one of the prongs has pinged off the cup on mine and it's not locking into place and starting the motor 😥 Very sad, but it was a Christmas present 6 or 7 years ago and it's been used at least 5 times a week since, so it really doesn't owe me anything. You can buy just the cups, but the motor has been a bit iffy for a while as well so I thought I'd go for the whole thing. Will have to muddle through with the small cup until it's delivered, as it was out of stock for click and collect from Currys and £20 more from Argos (well, it was once I'd deducted the £10 Currys voucher I had hanging around 🤣) This month's personal spending pot is now looking a little lean though!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

You have been through a massive amount this year, you have managed to stay with your high spirits. You need to give yourself more credit for how well you have done. Except for the whole ignoring the chest pains things, that was silly.
Machinery always breaks when it knows that it would cause you problems. My car decided to stop all heating while it was parked at work, I couldn't demist my screen so it might have been terrifying. The machines know.8 -
Thanks KP, and for the straight-talking 😀 No more ignoring pain, I promise!
The nutribullet breaking is revenge for me not buying a replacement when they were on a Black Friday deal in Lidl, as I decided it wasn't worth buying a new one just because I thought it might break at some point. I thought the washing machine was going to die on me a few weeks ago, as it was making a truly awful noise on the spin cycle (so bad I was worried about being in the same room as it and had to go and hide in my lounge 🤣), but it seems to have got that out of its system now fortunately! It's about 11 or 12 years old, so again it's had a good innings, but I'll be getting all new appliances when I do the refurb so don't want to be buying a replacement now!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I didn't intend it to be straight talking, more tongue in cheek! Reading it back, I come across as a bit rude. Sorry!

Dear oh dear, NOT like that 🙄🤣! More in the sense of being told to "get your head out of your *rse" (one of BF's favourite expressions) when I was feeling sorry for myself about losing my job/not having a job/getting a new job that pays a lot less!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
