Thanks Mark - I enjoyed painting while away and was really creative and surprised myself. The actual cottage was disappointing. I also allowed myself to get too exhausted before my break so it took me all week to recover.
I normally do MSE while away but had very little signal anyway and my brain was too full.
Well done on losing another pound. I need to weigh myself again now I'm back but haven't yet.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Good news: 10000 steps by 8am
Bad news: Its because my car is having a new clutch fitted and some brakes so four figure (or close to it) bill incoming
Good news: The car I paid £4000 in 2021 would now cost £6K to replace like for like
Bad News: My usual tactic of running to the showroom when a large bill approaches is not now viable - I can't downgrade any further so will just have to deplete my EFI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Ah well at least the EF is there and unusually even after the £1K spend you are better off compared than if you had to buy new. A little glitter in the dark at least.
Impressive steps - and so early in the day too!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hello - 3 weeks gone in a flash. Covid been and gone in the house (not me), deadlines been and gone.
Money been better this month and will make it out of 2023 reasonably clear - unless xmas is wild (which is won't be)
got a trip to the seaside this weekend will try and get some steps in. I've been OK Steps-wise but a general mojo failing means I have given up on metrication for the rest of this year - one final deadline in a couple of weeks then will be winding down and laying plans for next year and a long old holidayI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Another fortnight gone 2023 has been and (nearly) gone so quick.
Xmas planning is well underway although we have more travelling this year as oldies and youngies are more set in their locations so won't be the best we had, but it is what it is
Looks like I will end up OK money wise for the year, health and steps less so, but OK
Had a nice Christmas service at the local Church on Friday but I'm a sucker for a nice carol and they chose some good ones. Including my favorite "In the bleak midwinter" not everyone's choice but I love itI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Yes - only just getting into the Christmas spirit and carols definitely help!. Did my last full day of work yesterday, then off until Hogmanay.
Got a lot of sorting to do and travelling this time - so it goes,- but will be truly feet up after Boxing day. Looking forward to doing my annual write up and then heading into the 5th year of this 5 year dairy. How did that happen - OMG!!
