Hello @mark55man
I'm a new poster to your diary, but have been following since the beginning. I have just started a diary and have a similar timescale in my mind and am impressed with all you have achieved in that time (and I can't believe how quickly the time has gone). I have to say, whilst I totally admire the actions on the credit cards and mortgage I am probably more impressed by your dedication to the daily steps.
I have debt to repay before we can focus on the mortgage but I do believe that in 5 years time we will be mortgage and debt-free and what you have really shown is all these things can happen alongside normal life - something that is really important I think.
Happy New Year.

Thanks SH for your support and thanks LTAMA if I may be so bold for unlurking and with such a powerful user name.
I certainly could follow your lead, but am feeling virtuous today (my first full day back at home) as I walked into town and back!! so am over 5000 already.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

To be honest @mark55man my steps are probably nearer 500 than 5000 so you can rightly feel virtuous. I am looking at fitness and weightloss in the new year as well but will be focusing on the exercise bike rather than steps in the first instance.I am looking to change my mindset to small but consistent actions (in debt busting and fitness) to embed the habits. My approach to date (all or nothing) has generally had the outcome of nothing over the long term. Although I am very good at talking about both weightloss and debt repayment 🤣.L2
